Presume your on about the client? Neither is right or wrong, do what is best for your network, personally I would go MSI route.

What do you get plugged into the router wired? Is this Virgin via coax or via ADSL via BT network?

Personally I would look at a hosted system rather then trying to host one, yes you rely on your internet but then you do for everything else so would expect you to have a redundant connection. Maybe use the second connection to route VOIP out then when it fails over its used for both. We are over about 30 sites on a hosted system, mix of VOIP handsets on desks to a softphone which we run a number of call centres though. No poking holes for VOIP traffic to come back in on the firewall just your outbound stuff. Works for us, not sure how many suppliers offer this but its the way I would go in the future, resilience already in place at their end hoepfully rather than your site been the single point of failure unless you have a second centre which I suspect unlikely in education.

Don't use USB really other than imaging. Use to transfer the odd file when working on PC's away from work but couldn't tell you the last time I used one even though its on my keys.

They all appear to be inheriting from the top, some work but others don't appear to. Not sure at the moment if its an issue with the mail relay but wanted to check I had it configured correctly.

We found Sage hosted on a server of ours doesn't work with clients over DA, best we could do was use a RDS session and host the app. Is this a possibility for yourselves? Could be easier in the long run.

Does anyone use PRTG or familiar with it? Using it for network monitoring, everything shows on the screen when up and down etc, certain things it seems to email when its down for but not others. From what I can see they are all configured the same but its not happening i.e. emailing me when say a site is down but yet it does for a server. Struggling to make sense of it and its a product I've never used any assistance would be appriciated. Thanks

Highest I've seen today was 700 or there about's. We use split tunnelling so odd random sites that go through our other connection have had to be added to it plus a local authority decided to change the VPN between us and them stopping a key system working! Joys.

Will update in the morning when logged back in, it's to do with cookies, there is no mention in the GPO's about setting them, had a good old Google too.

In Direct Access when you go into the page to change settings it lists the figures on there, not sure if its the same on AO. As I logged out we still had 300 users connected.

That is the only thing I could see. Wouldn't work for us if users create their own shortcuts.

Please move is not in appropriate area. In Chrome under chrome://flags/ we need to disable two settings to enable a site to work, we cannot find a way of pushing it out easily via GPO any suggestions? Potentially have to push this out to our entire estate of thousands of machines.

Personally I wouldn't use either but that's personal choice. Olivetti are rebadged Konica. Both are popular brands out there.

Logon to your unifi controller, select the site if you have more than 1, settings in the bottom left corner, then under services about 15 lines down there turn off AUTO-OPTIMIZE NETWORK and apply.

Known issue as I found out yesterday, go into your settings on your controller and turn off auto optimize network and it will connect.

I've got the same issue, unticking the do not save encrypted files to disk resolves the issue but we don't want to untick this as a risk. Has anyone had the same issue with Sophos filtering in the cloud?

Could do it quite cheaply with a pFsense SG-1100 box from Netgate, just need to bridge with the current modem.

That staff where I am wasn't utilising and many issues stopped the specific lone working device use and changed to to local team and they got a better response for it. Obviously everywhere is different though.
