It says 2019 here. -
Thanks for that. Just in process of imaging the machine, got backups of it all.

They use VirginMedia ISP mail, got a pile of data local, would prefer to move it to Thunderbird and IMAP if I can, just need to know if anyone knows if Mail will work to save me hassle if not.

Not licensed, it's a home user, uses open office for word/excel, used to be Outlook Express prior to migrating to Win7. Outlook is my preferred choice but need free in this instance.

I have a computer on 7 that I am going to upgrade to 10, no issues, will clone before I do it just incase but my question is will Windows Live Mail work ok on 10 as part of the upgrade or not? I think moving forward Thunerbird is my answer but there is no easy way to migrate data into there from Live Mail, the only easy option I can see is to temporarily install Outlook migrate to a PST then import into Thunderbird. Thoughts please, thanks.

Just DNS in theory unless you plan on putting a domain trust in place so users from other domain can login etc. -
Sharp MX-B355W or there is a colour version. Nice little machine, can put on floor on cabinet if wanted. Same functions as bigger device but still small ish.
-
In the same policy where you are mapping to the other domain can you map to something on the same domain?
-
Can you map it via GPO using \\serverip\share or \\server.fqdn.domain\share?

I believe the Paxton one can do this. - - - Updated - - - I believe the Paxton one can do this. You set it up as an extension to your phone system. -
Think you will need to trace the wires back to the controller and go from there.

You will often find when you print a job in the queue as soon as you hit print it shows SYSTEM before changing username but also if you run anything like MobilityPrint from PaperCut or other third party tools they run as system so any print jobs sent to the printer will be processed by the SYSTEM account.

Can confirm the newer Sharp's work with Office 365, even better if you integrate with O365 the machines don't even need the settings in if you use the integrated scanning within PaperCut, you can do it all centrally.

Proxy settings have always been flaky I have found, never been consistent anywhere I've been.

I used to be really good when working on the service desk, I'm still pretty good but no where at the standard I used to be, all self taught. Also find it depends on the keyboard I am using too.

There will always be a difference in what a machines reads to what PaperCut shows as anything done outside of PaperCut i.e. direct prints or engineers prints add to the total but don't go through PaperCut. Also depending when the company takes their readings won't be when you report is exactly. To answer the first question, you don't need to reset anything, PaperCut will just add on but an automated monthly report will show the usage for that period specified. A number of schools I have worked in get the reports send to the HoD then they can chase their staff that are using too much and a summary of accounts and not staff is sent to finance for those who bill out.

You can generally disable the port via the web interface, work speaking to your company who you lease them from.

If you have Mobility Print installed and working why not just download the Windows/Mac installer and run that?

Is flicking through EduGeek during personal time work?
MatthewL replied to TJ-Diggers's topic in General Chat
Not to me, I use the site to keep up to date and if i can help I will do. If I am doing something work specific during the day as part of my job then yes its work. -
Out of them I would pick Toshiba, find them a far more reliable machine but personally I'm Sharp through and through, been using them for 15 years now.

Papercut Follow me jobs don't actually print
MatthewL replied to Joko's topic in Enterprise Software
What version PaperCut are you on as there is a bug in some recent versions. Versions to avoid are 19.1.4 (was withdrawn), 19.1.5 and 19.2.0. 19.2.1 seems ok and has resolved some of the above issues I was having. -
Moving Our Website To A External Company & Advice
MatthewL replied to Fontayne56's topic in Web Development
If you do move keep control of the DNS yourself and just update the relevant records. If it was me personally I would get them to design and you sort hosting out too but then that's just me wanting to keep control of what I can but it still allows them to do their bit.
