To watch out for if its something the organisation is supporting make sure you don't get lumbered with the repair of them when they go wrong. Secondly the thing I find with these types of schemes if the end user always ends up paying over the odds for computer equipment.

I have finally got around to setting up a guest network on my home Unifi network this weekend just SSID and password no issues. Using pFsense basic 80/443 traffic for the time being. Does anyone restrict the speed that guests can get when connected either via Unifi controller and profiles or at router level (which pFsense seems to have able to do)? Secondly its just a SSID that anyone on can see each other devices, not an issue but using it as a bit of learning curve, I understand with Unifi if you create guest policies you can isolate each client, has anyone done this? Would I be better looking at the PacketFence route or can I do it with what I have at the moment? Currently my Unifi controller is on a Pi and runs nicely, looks after the 3 AP's across 3 different houses. I also created a QR wifi code here, that guests can scan and yes it does display the password but saves them typing it in!

We've done away with docks as such, we use monitors with them built in and can charge. They are Lenovo ThinkVision P24H-10 can link the two monitors together, plug keyboard, mouse in etc and then just the one cable to the laptop.

We picked up some DLink DGS-1100-08P they seem to be ok, got a few in the office and bought 2 for home, were less than £40 but with current situation that is likely to have rocketed. Infact my PC I am replying to is connected to one since I installed 140 days ago no reboots of the switch or anything.

Those running FTTP and dedicated fibres circuits at home, whats speeds are you getting and what you paying roughly?

We have hundreds of Unifi AP's running off our controller installed on a Linux box. Various sites, some using USG and some Unifi switches, replacing our Aruba kit with this as it fails or we need to add more capacity. In fact deployed 2 more AP's this week with no issue. Also use it at home, 3 AP's connected back to a Pi running as controller with no issues.

I'm tethered to my EE myfi and its working ok, early night for me I'm done with today. Best sort itself out tomorrow, if not I will be tethered all day, EE really have saved the day for me, unlimited data as well from them at the minute too.

Following today's VM outage it has made me think even more about moving ISP, my offerings are slim as there is no FTTC via BT circuits, my options are mobile broadband or a dedicated fibre connection. What do you have at home? I have created a a basic poll covering the options available, obviously with a BT circuit could be a host of ISP's but gives me an idea of what types of connection people are running. I think I have covered them all but if not shout up. If you have multiple connections for fail over or just have the luxury select what you have. I pay £47 or there about's for 200Mb from Virgin for mine currently.

Not the first time recently, lost it for a few hours from midnight on the 18th too, here is today's. Luckily I have my EE MyFi device that I can tether too, need to work link it to my pFsense box for seamless swap over rather than having to connect a WiFi dongle to my PC. I'm getting pretty peed off with them recently, the connection isn't what it should be for a 200Mb, offerings from BT are poor, not FTTC as VM in the area.

I've always allowed for 24 hours for DNS replication for domain names in the big wide world, shouldn't be as long but some ISP DNS is shocking.

No issues here, heavily using it and all 3-4k user base has it. 20 of in a meeting the other day and daily managers meetings with no issues.

Domain joined, AOVPN setup, no reason not to have any issues. We use DirectAccess and its seamless pretty much for users although have found some limitations with DA since lockdown but overcome, be ok on a single site, when were connecting to various routed networks across the area it flags the issues.

Bit of a bump to this. I rebooted both the RADIUS (NPS) boxes last night, only devices connected were some Airtames on the network at the time anyone else run with Airtame on their nework?

I have a couple of 2012 boxes running NPS for different services. Over the past week or so the log files on these have been increasing massively but nothing sticking out to us, in theory our WiFi is quieter due to staff not in buildings using it, next to no one logged in when I check our Aruba & Unifi solutions yet since 10am this morning one server has a log file of 3gb another at 500mb. The 500mb one usually sits around no more than 200mb for the day looking at older files as for the other not sure what a normal reading is as they have all been cleared. Was only picked up due to disk space been filled. Anything worth looking at, cannot see any failures for anything.

We have had the same this week as we have gone live with Teams now licensing is free to us. You don't have to have a team created to have a meeting, simply go to Outlook and create a new Team Meeting and send out via calendar invite and those with link can join. Lots of confusion over this and sick of seeing Teams popping up on the service desk as a job!

I've got my VM in modem only mode into a pfSense box and then a Unifi AP. Does me, although want to replace the hardware as its on an old server and could do with something smaller.

We have ours on a Linux box, as our Aruba fails or we need new sites adding we just add them to Unifi. I think we have about 160 AP's with a couple of sites on USG's aswell as the odd switch. I have mine running on a Pi at home with 3 AP's and have run it on Windows as service but find Linux better.

Luckily mine has been exterior, interior I'm banished from my doing, my Dad insists he comes and does any when it needs doing so I am not going to argue with that! Do need to invest in some more pain for outside, got a door step to do but needs more more hard wearing paint for that.

Totally unplanned to what I wanted to do but still connected, stripped 3 window sills and door step of the old pain using a disposable knife thing that made the job peeling the paint off far quicker than a scraper so quite happy. Just got to finish tomorrow and might get a couple of coats of paint on.

Weather dependant, put some wax on the car, washed it last night, cut the grass if it stays dry and finish some painting I started 2 years ago. Amongst that I want to finish sorting some pictures out from last year, some filing to do and general tidy of the house. If I achieve all that I will be amazed.

First thing I would do is change the password, potential for account to be compromised. If user doesn't need web access disable that (if you can in O365) reduce the places it can be logged in with.
