We're in the process as our Aruba AP's fail or we get issues with replacing them with Unifi. We have hundreds of them out there with zero issues, a number of sites have Unifi switches and USG's with a VPN back to the data centre. Cannot fault the Unifi stuff one bit.

Can you not get the parts and do yourself?

Yuasa NPH5-12 or Lucas 5-12 batteries both suitable, I had a quote on both and Lucas are nearly half the price of the Yuasa. Any good local battery supplier will be able to supply them.

Funny that one of our UPS showed battery near end of line and I looked into this the other week. I believe there are 8 batteries in each cartridge (might be 16), you can buy them for less than £15 each and replace them yourself for a fraction of the cost. I was all set to do this as I sourced the batteries from a local battery place but they wouldn't let me do it at work and for warranty. There are videos on YouTube, its simple really. Yes I do believe they are hot swap able but it might need putting in bypass mode, they are currently sat waiting to go into the UPS in the server room.

We already have ManageEngine MDM and will be using that just creating a new config for these devices going to a team.

I use Dreamhost for hosting, got a few small bits running on that but used to use them at work with no issues in the past. As for domains 123-reg for me, I'm happy enough with it.

We have some iPad's that are going to be enrolled in our MDM, historically we have never really managed these as there has been so few but this time its a batch of 10 and other issues have arisen so my job to setup a profile etc. My question is what things do you restrict etc? Obviously we are enforcing that things like location etc are on, tracking. I've never touched the config before so wondered if anything to look for?

Your skills may come in useful, fitting of a mobile data router to the caravan/motorhome, hook them up with wifi when on site or use 4G when out and about!!! All the best though.

Does the trust use any software for fleet management or driver management, sometimes these systems have booking facilities in them and can verify drivers against class of vehicle etc plus keeps all fleet stuff in one place.

I've got this working now, but once you have put get-aduser -filter * - Properties Surname, GivenName you then need to add | Select Surname, GivenName | and that gets what I want.

Are you using Adobe Reader or the built in viewers?

We've just completed a network refresh and we have a VPLS in place now and got rid of the point to points. I wasn't involved in the tendering for it but have used both MPLS & VPLS in the past. We have several hundred sites connected on the VPLS now back to our data centres works great for us. Each site has a local internet connection and we route via that where we can for internet traffic.

You fill find most SIM's use carrier grade NAT, even if you didn't and got a public IP it's assigned to a pool of devices so you would need a static for it to work.

I've always engaged with the local air con company and let them spec things up, never actually picked what I wanted before just had a number of quotes and gone form there.

You will need a static IP on the SIM card, some but not all providers can do this.

Maybe you need to approach this differently. You need a system like they have in shops when the person nicks the stock the alarm goes off, sure you can get something like that that would read multiple RFID tags as they pass through, libraries do it with books you chuck them all on and it reads and assigns them to you, you just need a door version of this. There fore students just walk through as normal but it gets them.

What about installing a gate line somewhere where they have to pass through like at the train station?

Common theme with CAPITA and systems like this, they bought Fortek out for the CAD systems in emergency service controls rooms and have issues there too!

I have 1 x Unifi AC-Pro that covers my whole house and garden, 3 bed 1950's ex council (well built) semi detached. My brother has the AC-Lite similar style house and he gets good coverage too. Both are ceiling mounted, mine upstairs his downstairs in hall way.

Firstly check you can login to the account on the O365 web portal, if you can do that, does the copier have a test option where you can test connectivity, could it be blocked port at firewall level, has the copier's IP changed? Has anything changed on the machine recently?

Yeah used it a few times when we've had issues recently, it's on all our devices but is easily downloaded if not.
