Admin staff want a form that they can fetch and fill in BUT allow other people to edit as it progresses and ALSO somehow run a report on the outcomes of the forms. (highlight incomplete forms too) I don't think MS Forms can do this.. anything else that could?

A bit of a weird one here. I work for a school in Sussex in we had a big migration over to Bromcom about a year and a bit ago. We have a new Finance member who has joined and she requires access to our old FMS Server for some financial info. I have logged into FMS with our old admin account and it looks like I have somehow lost admin rights. I cannot edit any users or any access levels. I can even log into the "sysman" account and this doesn't have the correct permissions either. Any idea how I could reinstate these permissions or what could be causing this? All options under users are greyed out other than reset password when I click on my own account. Thanks!

Hi, anyone here has any experience with Famly ? "https://famly.co/" I'm looking to move away from SchookKompanion, we're a private nursery, pre-prep and year 3,4,5,6 and its proving rather challenging to find a system that can deal with both nursery and the upper years along with a host of other services and clubs that the school offers - our payment and management is a total nightmare and the admin process is incredibly inefficient

Hi All we are looking to move away from our current MIS system "KSM" one of the main requirements is giving the parent the ability to select and amend the days they want their children to attend the nursery rather than have them call the admin office or use an online form, once a parent makes the changes for their child days the admin simply approves them individually or in bulk, another main requirement is parents paying via the app or web and that automatically updates the MIS rather than transfer the money directly to our account then admin makes note of that then finance sees the transactions and a ton of manual work. sofar I was exploring famly.co but it seems it lacks that functionality and parents will still need to call the office, also looked into isams but didn't see this functionality as an option either i could be wrong though, any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks

Hi, We are looking for a cloud engineer to join the team. Details in the link below Nescot | IT Systems Engineer (Cloud)

I've seen that you can now take control of a user presenting a shared screen. I've used this today to offer at home technical support and it worked great! I had a user with no audio driver, (some flub on our part) anyhow I was able to do the whole Shift Runas to get the driver to run as admin (bypass secure desktop) and bam job done. This is going to be easier than quick assist that doesn't work here anyway

Hi All, I've been playing with some GPOs and WMI filters to try and enable our users to access their PCs with admin privileges whilst away from the network. There's a few reasons for this but the primary reason being that we hide the C drive to prevent profiles/storage becoming fragmented between the local machine and the domain and they cant access their network shares when at home. My first attempt was to use a WMI filter to ping the DC, if there's a response, apply standard restrictions, if no response then go local admin. The result being that everyone on a laptop is an admin all of the time, regardless of ping return code. Not the desired result... Now I'm pulling my hair out, trying to find a solution. Any tips? Do any of you run admin laptops with restricted desktops? If so, how do you do it? Regards, C

I can't decide if this is awesome or terrible... Sakurako Shimizu: Jewelry for Network Administrators

Hi How many administrators should a school have where the setting up/ maintenance etc of email accounts for staff and pupils pupils are involved? This includes a list of all account names, passwords and access to emails themselves. Thanks

Laptops / PC's connected to the teachers whiteboard. Some running XP... replace or upgrade? Just about to move over to Server 2008 R2... Also same situation with our Admin PC's... Any suggestions?

Hi, I have an .msi installer for my application. When i double click this file and install it, it does not work properly due to admin permissions. When i right click the CMD, click Run As Administrator, find this .msi file, run it through this and install, it works perfectly and has full admin permissions. My question is, is there a way for me to double click my .msi file and install it, and it have the same admin permissions as if I was to install via the CMD as Admin. I just want to know so I can get the developers to add this in as going through CMD is a bit of a pain. Hope this makes sense. Many thanks

Hello, as Network Manager I have been tasked to create a series of workshops for our admin staff and need to teach them "basic IT skills" which they are currently lacking. I am struggling to think of content for these workshops because I'm not sure what they are expected to know, assuming they can type into Microsoft Word. I've managed to think of a couple of things such as making labels, mail merging, creating tables, spreadsheets (a bit vague) but they don't know anything about using excel. I was just wondering if anyone had any other ideas of what admin staff should know how to do IT-wise. Thought I might be able to get a few ideas I haven't thought of yet. Realistically, they should already know how to do all of these things, but alas- they don't know most of it. I might add using the MIS to part-2, I'll probably just focus on Microsoft Office in the first instance and see how that goes.

Hello, I have a Windows 7 Pro laptop that has been taken off the domain. However, I cannot login to the laptop using the local administrator account as I don't know the local admin password. Is there anyway I can reset this password? I want to put the laptop back on the domain. Thanks, techman

I've seen it for a while but my teachers are standard (non-admin) users. They usually can't install a program BUT sometimes they can? I find that some programs can install with no admin access required. Can someone tell me what this is called and how it works. The latest was a 3d splicer from Stratasys the teacher downloaded it, ran the installer and bam it was in.. I wasn't needed. I assume it was not altering system files.
