Hey Guys I'm trying to do some testing with Windows Server 2012 R2 and the remote apps webpage. When I go to the page it gives me the standard (This site is untrusted do you want to proceed) I click yes and I login to the RD Client website. But when I click on an application it won't download the file. I have tried this in firefox and it works perfectly fine so must be a chrome issue!? Is there anyway I can allow chrome to download from this page? Thanks in advance

My wife mentioned that appointments and emails from her phone weren't syncing. She keeps her life on her phone so this worried me. Email is sorted, but calendar is a major problem. This is using the native calendar app. It had the Gmail account and her outlook.com calendar showing. I looked on outlook.com and Google calendar on a PC and there were events showing on her phone, but not on either of the accounts on the PC. I then told the phone to sync - expecting it to send its additional events to the cloud. It didn't! Months worth of changes disappeared from the phone [emoji25] . Any ideas on how to recover this? I am in really deep #_&* on this one Thanks

Hello, I purchased a OnePlus 2 for a member of staffs work phone. I was really impressed with it, but didn't have it long enough to test drive it. I used to have a S4 Mini from an iPhone 4 and I hated the OS it and went back to iPhone 6. But I liked the near stock Andriod 5.1.1 and with version 6 coming soon. Does anyone have a OnePlus 2? what is it like please? Thanks

Being relatively new to Android, I was wondering if anyone had an app recommendations they would like to share.

Hi All, So I spent a bit of time in the holidays wiping, reconfiguring and setting up 15 android tablets... But now I have to say I'm a bit lost and not sure why I bothered putting the effort in. They were sitting in the IT cupboard (where old IT equipment goes to die after someone buys it thinking it is a great idea at the time, then realises it is of no use in an educational setting).... They are running Jellybean so are obviously limited in terms of newer apps and anything that runs on later versions of Java or Flash iirc. Specs: 1 of A1CS FUSION5 XTRA v2 Tablet PC - 10.1" Screen - DUAL-CORE - Android 4.1 JELLY BEAN - DUAL CAMERA - 16GB STORAGE - 1GB RAM - BLUETOOTH - Capacitive 5-P So, what to do with them? They were used as 'reward' toys with all sorts of games and apps on them, but with no way to control what was installed to them I've wiped all that off and would like to try and use them a little more 'educationally'.... Anybody know of some great free apps (aiming for Primary Education age range). Thanks in advance. Kol.

Hi all, Just got the above today as a replacement for my HTC One SV which has not been bad for a work phone but moving over has uncovered a few bugs/issues I cannot get my head around and I am hoping someone on here can help with. My email sync's via Exchange, all working ok but when I used to use it on my HTC it would show all unread messages and not just the inbox, I cannot work out and I have Googled if this phone can do it. It's quite important to me as I have numerous folders where various emails go into by rule and need to see them all as I am out and about the majority of the time. I used to just tick which folders to sync and it came through, so far the only way is to actually view the folder. Secondly, not a major one but I presumed it would just work is if I have an app on one device it would sync over, is this not the case? I have my One SV and a Samsung Tablet all syncing and I use apps on all devices, this then leads me onto the wifi profiles, I thought these were all sync'd up too, everything is ticked as it should be but doesn't seem to go over, again any suggestions? It's only really the first time I have swapped an Android phone like that, I did it back with a HTC to Samsung (personal) but I wanted to start from scratch again but I will be replacing my S4 (at home) in a few weeks so ideally I would like to move my wireless profiles over as everything else syncs already on that one but maybe not the apps. Help would be appriciated in this, been Googleing all afternoon. The email one is the key one at the moment. Cheers

If the worst comes to the worst, I'm guessing that this could be done by recording the screen, but does anyone know a cleaner way to do the above? Got someone who needs to prove that they were at work on a particular day (the Head has already corroborated this and it wasn't good enough) and the screen shot "could be from any phone". (Mistaken identity - or malicious? - insurance claim).

Hiya, I have a phone which I need to get a very lengthy text conversation off in to a text document or something. In the past we've done screenshots, but this time the conversation is just way too long. All the software I can find which claims to be able to do it costs money. It's Android, there must be a simple way of doing it which I'm missing! Please help.... Stuart

Using a Oneplus 2 and some apps are reporting my location incorrectly. I have high accuracy mode enabled and in Google maps, my location is perfect (even indoors). Other Google apps are also OK - the Google assistant does my time to work/time to home correctly. Others show me about 6 miles away (same incorrect location for affected apps) Two apps are giving me problems: BBC weather (no great issue as the weather is pretty similar and my home is one of my favourites). The other is Tado - more of an issue as it thinks I'm out and turns the heating off! There are 4 of us with the app installed and I'm the only one having this problem. Any ideas?

I need to buy 5 Android phones for use by our Estates team and my IT technician. There are a short list of requirements: 1. Not expensive 2. A camera that focuses quickly (as they'll be used to do Asset label scanning) 3. Ability to get a tough case for them 4. Battery that'll last a proper working day Any thoughts?

I have a Pixel C tablet that has worked brilliantly for the last 6 months. The monthly OS update for August was to go to Android 8.0 Oreo. I finally accepted this a couple of days ago. It's a personal device. All seemed well and I used it immediately after the update. Next time I tried to use it the screen brightness was zero I can just see a glimmer on the screen when I wake it - notifications from the apps which I can clear with an upward swipe - but I can't see the numbers clearly enough to enter my PIN. How on earth can I reset this thing or is it now an expensive brick?

Hi, We are ironing out a few issues with BYOD and mobile phones connected to our WiFi network. We use Smoothwall and although everything works fine (phones are connected and filtered correctly) there's an exclamation mark next to the WiFi symbol and the phone states 'Connected without internet' in the WiFi settings. Users are always reporting it as an issue although haven't gone as far to check. This also happens with Chrome. I thought it was to do with Captive Portal check URLs so have added the ones I see to our exception list. This hasn't made a difference. The URLs don't get filtered or require authorisation. Here are the various URLs I added to the exception lists: apple.com/library/test/success.html clients3.google.com/generate_204 connectivitycheck.android.com/generate_204 connectivitycheck.gstatic.com/generate_204 detectportal.firefox.com/success.txt google.com/gen_204 gstatic.com/generate_204 msftncsi.com/ncsi.txt play.googleapis.com/generate_204 Does anyone know how the Android system determines whether there is internet connectivity? Thanks, Paul

Hi all, Can anyone recommend a decent solidly built tablet we can issue to a couple of PE staff so they can hop on the WiFI and do their lesson registers in Bromcom, seems overkill to supply them with Apple iPads (which is of course their preference!)

This has annoyed me immensely. On Friday I noticed that my WhatsApp messages had removed the names of my contacts and all I was left with was numbers. At first I thought this was a glitch until a got call from someone who was previously in my Android contacts list and it wasn't tagging them by name. I went into my contacts to see what was up and on many of them I saw that they had a message that said (I should have screengrabbed this) 'This contact is managed by Skype). Those contacts were not in Skype, but it has removed all of their details from my phone. Needless to say I'm not happy as I have a lot to recreate and many I'll have to re-add from scratch. If you Google 'Skype has stolen my Android contacts' you'll see this is not exactly rare! So please be careful if you have Skype installed on your Android phone and ensure that it does not have access to your contacts - settings\apps\app management\skype\permissions\contacts - and ensure that Don't allow' is selected'!

I need to manage 16 new Android Tablets (Samsung Galaxy Tab A) that will be shared across all pupils at a primary school. They will need proxy server setup, and to be well locked down with restrictions on You Tube, Play Store etc. I've looked at TabPilot which would seem to do the job but it's a $500 annual licence fee for up to 30 tablets so it's too expensive. I've also been looking at Google G Suite which has a device management feature and is also free for Education. I have got as far as activating the admin console and looking at the options. However, it seems rather complicated for what I need and is going to require some appreciable time investment in working out exactly what I do and don't need to set up. Has anyone used G Suite for this purpose and do you know of any resources I might access, I was hoping to find a list of recommended options for quick setup. Alternatively, are there any other management tools that work well, I've looked around on the web but not found anything that stands out. Thanks

Hey Folks, We recently purchased 32 WileyFox Swift 2 under the advice from their team that the particular model had a gyroscope. Turns out that isn't the case. So we are now looking for a similar spec phone for use with Google Cardboard. We are in the process of returning them but I now need to scope out a new model of device. We paid around £125/unit for the WileyFox so we would be looking for a similar price if possible. If there are any re-sellers out their that want to try and sell me something then please feel free to send me a PM.

We need to have Puffin Academy on oir tablrts for Education City but as I have to create a bookmark in the software for it and another site we use, is there any quick way to do it as I have 20 tablets to do it on, done 2 and its going to take me ages. Had a look and cant see how to import them etc, as we are a primary can you shortcut the pages to the desktop like I can with Chrome?

New Hudl, won't let me add a Google Play account (at home, not work). I have set up a Google Account on my desktop PC, so I could set all the privacy settings using the bigger screen to follow the instructions. Not set up 2 stage verification. I can log in to the Google account on the hudl using chrome, but Google Play keeps coming up with Username and password don't match, and directs me to account recovery. The link from account recovery won't work in Chrome on the Hudl, even with copy and paste. If I do it on the computer, Google Play still refuses to work on the hudl. I can get to Google Play through Chrome to browse for apps, but then I can't install anything. Checked out the forums on the web generally, and lots of folk having this issue on various android devices, but none of the solutions offered seem to work for them or me! Edugeekers, please work your magic! I'm being driven nuts by this.

Head has a new 'droid and wants his school email set up on it. Is the screen below normal? The permissions seem excessive to me.

I've noticed that recently at some point the compass on my OnePlus One has broken. Not sure exactly when but I only noticed when I tried to use Google Sky Map. The last time I noticed it working was in June. There are many reports of the compass being broken due to a recent update when encryption was added (CM12 IIRC). Could someone with a stock OPO please check if theirs is in the same condition too as it may be I have to swap over to a differnt ROM to enable it again which many have reported as fixing the issue. Apparently OnePlus are a bit reluctant to adress the issue judging by some of the forum posts I've read elsewhere.

Well, as I am getting fed up now with the lack of Apps on my Windows phone, I was wondering what recommendations there currently are for any Android phones out there (or coming soon). Any recommendations?
