What do you want to run this on? Linux or Windows. If your using Windows SMTP server is built in, you should be able to use this.

We recently just rolled out v6 and it is absolutley excellent, we use this as a remote control and logging program. It's fantastic! Well worth the money.

There are some absolutley fantastic resources (flash files) which you can distribute, which have an office 03 screen, you click the particular part/menu/button in office 03 and it tells you what and where the new function is in Office 07! Yes you do - but also may need to get details from your LEA about how to set it up with their IP address, or how you "dial in" to relevant servers you need to recieve data from.

Possibly through Snapshotting and an MSI? Try using something like WinInstall LE, take a before snapshot on one of the machines, when that snapshot has done then do the change, then do the after snapshot. Worth a try, 50/50 whether it will work!

Hi, Try Apache SSL/TLS Encryption - Apache HTTP Server to get you started on configing SSL. You'll need an SSL trusted sertificate. Can I suggest SSL Certificates SSL Wildcard SSL Free Certificates SSL Server Certificate 256 bits for a 2 yr free Educational trusted licence. You'll also need, obviously, your lea to open port 443 for SSL too! hope this helps.

I use Dreamweaver 8 for most web dev stuff, but only use the code window But it is useful to have a WYSIWYG to see the page during coding.

Try giving the Graphics Officer permission on the program itself (the program in c:/program files/software folder). It could be to do with the software restrcition policies; but i'm sure you haven't blocked it!

I have created an MSI custom to our needs here - using WinInstall LE. Works a treat.

Don't know if this would work or not - but could you set it to save in their local profile on the workstation - and then save/export to their network drive on logoff (an xcopy or something?). Not tried it so don't know how effective it is. Virtual machines, as you say, is an option, but remember you have to have licences for all extra xp installs you set up.

I am SO glad that they are sorting out the applying patches issue! I usually do it at 5pm and send a global email round saying the update will be done at that time, please be off SIMS. My back is covered, then!

I would personally go to a Vanilla Network with using abTutor for general monitoring.

I like to try and talk to as many people - regardless whether their cleaners, adminm, teachers - I love getting and making myselfs known. You never know when they can help you - such as emptying your bin for you, hoovering your office (when it isn't very tidy!).

Hi all A weird one here! One of our ICT teachers has reported a fault that there was an issue with the clipart on some of his machines. For instance, when he searches the word "dog" - only one picture comes up - surely there should be more? I've tried reinstalling the offcie software and the clipart componment, to no avail. Hi all, Firstly we're not using the Edugeek Joomla package. On our website, the Docman has just "stopped" working. I try and download a file from it, or navigate to the documents page controlled by docman on either the site end or admin end. It literally just goes to a blank page, nothing pulled down at all. Just a white page Has anyone else experienced this? Many thanks and sorry for the sparseness of the info! Hope you can help rh91uk
