  1. Merry Christmas to all!
  2. We use Roaming Profiles here, but with an initial redirected start menu. AppData is held in the users Home Directory.
  3. Hi all I was wondering if anyone has come across this. We have set a new desktop background which is white with lots of text from the school on, etc - school name etc etc. We are getting a really small amount of complaints, so I want to try and darken the shadows under the desktop icons a bit. I obviously know how to do this to individual workstations, but do any of you know a registry key or GPO even that I can set to darken them en mass. Help would be appreciated! thanks, rh91uk
  4. Works fine for me here too!

  6. I use CutePDF and have deployed it on the network here.
  7. Hi all, I was wondering if any of you have been able to reset Moodle Courses on mass, or to unenrol people on mass? Would love to hear if any of you have done it! cheers, Richard
  8. Hi all I don't know how I did it, but I get the below when I open up the GAL: http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/5844/gal.png Not to say that is a bad thing! I was wondering how I could replicate this setting across the network? Is it in the outlook ADM? What is this setting? Thanks, rh91uk
  9. I would virtualise it, running a server for general tasks and obviously your DC for the main tasks.
  10. Not that I've tried - but System Manager 7 (cant remember the date!) built in .NET is on it's way - they're testing now. So I have been told ...
  11. That's what I suggested
  12. i guess the SQL native client was installed when you did the FMS setup? tried reinstalling FMS? Might be to do with Crystal reports .... you a member of supportnet?
  13. Have you changed ntuser.dat to ntuser.man? don't know if that would make a difference but it's worth a shot!
  14. From a technical point of view, if you want control over Eclipse - I would host it internally. You get 100% control over it and it's local to your network - even if the net is down because it is internal you'll still be able to use it. The plus side from hosting it would obviously be the fact that they would carry out all updates and as such, would be a perfect system. But, there is no reason for yours not to be a perfect system (if you have a support contract - which I would strongly advise!) Hope it helps
  15. No. They don't here - and would never, after we had a PGCE student misuse our system here. They have a user account, and email - but on seperate distribution lists to the staff.
  16. Hi all A lot of staff have requested if it is possible to create class Distribution Groups off SIMS. I have done this. Obviously - there are lots of class groups! Is there any way, in exchange 2007, I can hide these Groups from the Global Address List but not hide them from the seperate address list named "Class Groups"? Cheers rh91uk
  17. Maybe some screenshots would do good, too? I don't see the logic about pernamently moving back to 2k3. Tried a clean exch 2007 install on a clean 2k8 (not R2!!) install? Is it virtualised? we have a virtualised setup here and it's fine, but I have heard it run into problems on vm's.
  18. Are the ports open on the firewall for the new server? Is it the same or different ip to your exch2003 box?
  19. Hi all Just some help needed here please! not very knowledgable with Macro's - but an ICT teacher here has said they can't seem to view author attributes anymore for macros? How would he do this in office 2007? ta very much! Richard
  20. Happy Birthday James!
  21. I generally just ring the person concerned and ask if it is ok that I remote into their machine.
  22. You could use SunVirtualBox VirtualBox
  23. Would be very interested if anyone has done this.
  24. We have virtualised the lot here - exchange servers, DC's etc. If you plan it well and have space for redundancy then you should be fine!
  25. Nope - in Bexhill . PM me for further details
