Had same issue here, except setting 'encrypt passwords and keystrokes only' DID fix it for me - but only after changing my choice of VNC Server software for windows to TightVNC. With RealVNC there was no chance. Possibly the same strategy may work for Linux... (altho not with tightvnc as that creates it's own desktop session rather than exposing an existing one - depends what you're after).

Neither do we. It connects to our local Exchange server fine from LAN or offsite over the net via our webmail url... I think they updated the app to support this recently. When we originally trialled it yep, it could only connect to 365, same as the Win8 Mail App, but since Win 8.1 released the iOS OWA app and Win8 Mail App have both been updated to connect to native Exchange servers etc.

Install OWA for iPad off the AppStore.

A Matrox Triplehead will do that with any 3x projectors of your choosing... a solution I use regularly for large theatre & small arena shows. Multi Monitor Adapter for Maximum Performance | TripleHead2Go Might also be worth investing in Isadora (TROIKATRONIX | live performance tools) to manage what you're showing on those screens, and with a USB to DMX adapter, you could also then use Isadora to control lighting presets etc. Sound-wise... Behringer X32 console (it's Midas pre-amps are SUPERB - http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/X32.aspx), which uses CAT5 for FoH to Stage multicore... thus keeping costs down of a traditional analogue loom. At the stage end you'd use 2x S16 snake units (http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/S16.aspx). You can also then simply plug console into a laptop running Cubase via USB, or Macbook running Logic, and multitrack record events with ease. This setup will keep the audio side of things as uncluttered as you can possibly get it. Ideally from that into a pair of CLA300 line array, and you'll have a superb facility.

Indeed - nothing to need clearing up... s'against YouTube's terms of use. Licensed only for use via YouTube or their embeds, end of. As for the content they're recording, that's a breach of mcps, and therefore illegal. Most SLT / higher powers in Edu have little to no knowledge of this, or that for instance school licensing doesn't allow for use of copyrighted photos lifted from google images, or that they can't use that latest chart hit as backing music for a PowerPoint slideshow. have a look towards back end of yonder thread: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/113846-using-copyrighted-music-youtube.html

I'd just point out to them that Educational-Use doesn't cover copyright theft / breach of YouTube's terms, therefore it's an unsupported request. End of issue.

Twitter's terms state that users must be of legal contractual age in their country of residence. Primary children most definitely do not fall under "of legal contractual age".

Not many here use CC3 anymore... and this sounds like an issue that needs RM support to fix, therefore, your establishment should pay for the support it needs from RM I'm afraid... *shrug* (And those who don't have an RM support contract can't read the TEC docs etc to be able to advise further either - I seem to recall having to manually reinstall a whole heap of RM components, including Station Manager etc, from the original MSIs, then apply all hotfixes etc again, the last time I had to resolve this particular issue, but all under guidance from RM Support.)

Qustodio on iPad (Or Something Similar)
Marci replied to trevrobwhite's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Contact Qustodio, who should be able to tell you what IPs and ports need opening / whitelisting on your filters, or any network technician worth his salt should be able to connect to an isolated SSID with one, fire up Wireshark from a laptop, and trace what it attempts to access. -
Just to second, a plethora of devices here all upgraded to iOS7 fine and retained all Meraki profiles and restrictions etc. Some have also since been wiped and re-setup as a new device rather than upgraded... re-enrolled with Meraki, and again, worked fine (altho some of them took a few attempts to save the profiles - invalid profile errors, but just keep retrying and eventually it works).

These were all done on iPhone 4S with a 12x Optical Zoom lens (again, always in my pocket!) using the NightModes app to control exposure etc...

Kinda liking the new pocketable lenses that have come out of late on eBay from China's finest... Bee Sting... taken on iPhone 4S with Microscope lens... Mosquito Larvae in a water droplet (as per above)

Only if you have an ERA+ license, and it only covers non-subscription free-to-view terrestrial channels. (See my post at end of this thread: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/113846-using-copyrighted-music-youtube.html)

Giving SLT User Administrator Password
Marci replied to Get2theChoppa's topic in Learning Network Manager
Create a unique separate account with administrator privileges... that way any activity on it can be tracked and seperated from your actual administrator account. As per everyone else - sealed destructive envelope in safe or encrypted memory stick in safe, and presuming all staff don't have access to the safe, a specific signing out sheet left with whoever is in charge of the safe which must be completed whenever the details are removed / used. -

You can install coLinux and the AFP protocol on Windows, and then map thru that to get what ExtremezIP charge for...

There is NO mention of the word encrypt or encryption anywhere in the OFSTED School Inspection Handbook Sept 2012. There is also no mention of it in "The Framework for School Inspections" published in April 2013. However... in the Sept 2012 Briefing for Inspectors, encryption is mentioned... as in a lack thereof can be constituted an indicator of inadequate eSafety practice (refer to "Inspecting e-safety", Ref 120196, rel. Apr2013) I suspect that it's down on paper to satisfy the ICO for whom encryption is considered a necessity for Data Protection purposes, but in reality no inspector is clued up / qualified enough to determine on-site whether you've encrypted relevant devices or not other than just taking your word for it / making note that the word "encryption" crops up somewhere in your eSafety policies. So, make of all that what you will. We ALL know that any laptops / usb sticks / devices likely to be leaving school property SHOULD be encrypted...

You saying that directly contradicts the info printed on the sleeve insert of most boardworks packages I've come across iirc (don't have any to hand here, so I could be wrong)
-
I honestly dunno fella - never experienced the SMBX issues directly myself... everything's always worked fine for me *shrug*. I've always forced "Show Connected Servers" off in Finder > prefs > sidebar tho as it's always shown the Server root, whereas showing "connected servers" on desktop (finder > prefs > general) always shows the actual share end-point, and then drag n' dropped that to Favorites in sidebar for convenience.
-
You should only be able to go into shares that they have permission to go into. If your permissions are set correctly there's nothing to worry about. But... Finder > Preferences > Sidebar > Untick "Show Connected Servers" under 'SHARED' Now drag & drop the end-point (shared folder) you want them to see to the sidebar. You should then be able to pick up and distribute com.apple.sidebarlists.plist to your clients via WGM on a per-group basis etc.

No. Essentially they're talking about making the Batman: The Dark Knight Falls comic (Dark Knight Ep4, which is the proper Batman vs Superman storyline, and the next to follow on in sequence from the Nolan Batman Trilogy which was based on Dark Knight 1-3 to answer calls from the fans to make what most consider to be the 'best' Batman storyline)... altho the lines get blurred when they say it's going to be a Man of Steel film, not a Batman film. The quote Lennox dropped at the ComicCon announcement was straight pulled from Dark Knight Falls. See synopsis at Comic Book Resources > Top XX

You have WebKit browser-specific CSS, which only applies to Safari / Chrome & other webkit based browsers... remove the below from your CSS and the grid will vanish... .rt-showcase-pattern { background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(rgba(0,0,0,0.1) 2px,transparent 2px), -webkit-linear-gradient(0,rgba(0,0,0,0.1) 2px,transparent 2px), -webkit-linear-gradient(rgba(0,0,0,0.1) 1px,transparent 1px), -webkit-linear-gradient(0,rgba(0,0,0,0.1) 1px,transparent 1px); background-size: 80px 80px, 80px 80px, 5px 5px, 5px 5px; background-position: -2px -2px, -2px -2px, -1px -1px, -1px -1px; }
