  1. Only had 1 issues with the embeddded problems, was a vimeo link as well. I suppose as they start whitelisting sites shouldnt get any more issues. 1gig is more than enought for us, doesnt warrant going to 10gig so hopefully an annual reduction to go with it as well.
  2. It seems a more widespread issue, but nothing really mentioned on any of the Microsoft Forums, It caused me hours to pain and sorting out devices, and probably translate that into lost learning/teaching time.
  3. Costs are all good, Sometimes better the devil you know. Interesting to see if 1gb's have changed pricing much in last 3 years.
  4. I use these https://www.lindy.co.uk/audio-video-c2/splitters-c159/2-port-hdmi-10-2g-splitter-p10374 Oh my have they gone up in price, was paying £14 ex vat each for them, 18 months ago. The ones above little more sturdy, seem to work better than the cheaper plastic ones on longer cable runs. I have 2 amazon basic splitters I tested as well from 2020, and they are still going well.
  5. Morning, This summer or current 3 year deal is up, so looking to start early and get some foundations in place. To be fair, have been really impressed with our current connection, apart from a whole days outage last year its been faultless for the last 3 years, delivering on its 1000/1000 speeds via a baracuda on site managed firewall. We are very rural in a tiny village so lucky to get away with it really. I suppose all suppliers out here would be stuck with using Openreach anyway, so on the connectivity side it will be who can offer the best solution in regards to pricing, sla and managed firewall. Over to the filtering side, we are using securly. Ill stick my head up here and say it has been nothing but fantastic compared to solutions I have seen and used before. I see on this forum (always take with a pinch of salt, we all come here for a moan usually) issues with smoothwalls support, and netsweeper doing what it wants at times. I cannot remember the last time anyone has spoken to me regarding issues with our filtering, websites being blocked or when I have had a new system installed that just point blank will not connect or the filtering blocks. Students and staff always get fast connections and can have a 90 kids watching a live stream like last week and no issues at all on their individual devices. The only "let down" I have with it, due to its design is it not logging so called "bypassed" traffic. If traffic or a site is whitelisted (all of O365 for instance) it will not log the connection, as naturally this traffic is passing direct and so not via thier cloud filters. All google searches, and youtube for instance are logged so we are covered, but maybe one day a bit may slip through. I also use SENSO across the site and log all traffic that was too, so we do have a fall back. Being as this is my only gripe with securly I am debating if its even worth looking else where, it works, it works well, causes me no issues and recently passed quite an intense pentest I had done on site. Anyview, or recommendations to any filtering which may take me up to the next level
  6. Gave up in the end. All my classroom machines now have HDMI splitters from Lindy, only £15 or so quid each, and then output to the two screens that way. To be fair, its solves a lot of issues with non tech skilled staff getting messed up with dual screen settings as well as random setting changes and windows updates resetting the layouts. Also moved to Office LTSC but not sure if that would have stopped it. I do feel also it may have been unique to maybe the HP desktops on a Core i3 6th gen. They will all be going this summer anyway.
  7. Speak with Senso via Live Chat, there may need to be some policy changes around web filtering. There was an issue where by Senso would filter the web traffic even if it was switched off, a policy can change this.
  8. Bit late to jump on, Litterally just north of you in Worcestershire. Was looking at a tech to help, but to get someone I could trust, can learn quickly and actually help and not be a hiderance would be looking 27k to 30k a year, just not sustainable at the moment. Also Gloucestershire is a rural area with poor transport links, start looking at cars and living costs its better to work in your local Spar shop .
  9. Thanks for that Its just getting that balance correct, or getting the office to add anyone leaving on bromcom. Got a few demo's this week of some of the others, so hopefully see if there are any differences.
  10. I think we can adapt, what is annoying with overwrite in Bromcom is, we may have been aware of an appointment for months, we add the marks and also a comment so we know why they are away. If we do use overight it loses the comments, Only thing Inventry did well is allow you to select which marks to import and not to automatically import and overwrite.
  11. Not really an answer for this, but you have probably just tipped me from moving from Inventry over to sign in app, both products now work out roughly the same cost over 3 years so its better the devil you know.
  12. Personally accounts for us are created by Locker (based off their Bromcom details, eg rights and permissions) It generates and email/login/password for us via an email, I will then print this and give to their line manager/whoever is doing their induction before they start. I then book in an IT induction as part of this usually on their first day, where they first login and get shown any systems / services as part of their role. This way if for any reason on the first day we cannot do their IT induction, their line manager will be able to at least get them started. A bit more importantly for me, getting accounts generated before they start gives time for Office 365 services such as Outlook and OneDrive to provision and be ready on first use.
  13. Just to add, the 5406Rzl2 has been the best core switch I have used, never any issues.
  14. If I create a new AD object and want to it create instantly, open powershell as admin and run. Start-ADSyncSyncCycle -PolicyType Delta Does it for me without having to wait.
  15. https://techdocs.akamai.com/etp/docs/disable-doh-browsers#:~:text=In%20the%20address%20bar%2C%20enter,section%2C%20disable%20Use%20Secure%20DNS. Possible built in DNS?
  16. Yes, have this way but only in regards to our finance systems, not other IT systems. Took around 10 minutes to complete.
  17. Wonder if anyone has any clever ideas for this one. I am looking at setting up automatic replies for all users and shared mailboxes that cuts in outside of office hours and weekends, so people are aware staff will not be replying to their emails at 11.30 in the evening. I have set it up for a single user as a powerflow, just wondering if there is any clever way to apply it to a large group of users? Any ideas greatfully welcomed.
  18. Morning, just a heads up. 3 years ago, I was happily introduced to Maxell and their range of short throw projectors. To be fair, they were very well priced for their performance and knocked the usual Epson range out of the water. The units themselves have been very good, they didn’t seem to lose any brightness over their many hours of usage. However, Christmas last year, 2 of the unit developed a major issue with inverted colours, and incorrect colours. Being it has a comprehensive education warranty I decided to log the two faults. After many attempts to get someone out to look at them, they finally arrived in February to advise that these were both mainboard faults. (2 maths classrooms during this time with awful projectors). At least it looks like they will be sorted soon, how wrong could I be. It took 3 more months, and me pulling some strings with suppliers to try and get up the chain in Maxell to get something sorted. Whilst that 5 month debacle was over, 3 weeks ago I had a bulb go in one of the units. Again, education warranty and silly me thought a couple of days and the new bulb will arrive. Not a sign, it took 2 weeks for them to acknowledge the job and still I have had no further contact re a bulb. Whilst this is a bit of moan, it’s more a warning to anyone looking at Maxell for their AV products. I know their warranty is done by Equinox, who also do Epson. However, with Epson products I have never had this issue, so I would assume it is Maxell causing the issues here.
  19. Personally I do it after the 1st of September, with the age of our students I use locker and Bromcom to generate mail merges, they are all given stickers to place in their planners. I do know that (well, as of last year) if you are using Bromcom, locker couldnt access any pre-admission students. I suspect with the many upgrades they have done over the last 12 months this may be different.

    WSUS 22H2

100% with this, enablement package is a very easy route to take, reboots in seconds.
  21. Runs ok on Core i5 11th Gen, 16gb of Ram and a 500gb M2 SSD, using the Core i5 for graphics processing. Also runs the whole Adobe suite well.
  22. Securly - https://www.securly.com/ Been a fantastic product for us, hosted on Azure.
  23. I wonder if this can help, its great, use it quite a bit. Merge and Split
  24. When you are logged in, look at your URL, it will be ####.senso.cloud.
  25. Second using Audit Log, just enter their username and date range. Report maybe big but you can then export. However, you have to enable audit logs, from memory they were disabled in some earlier editions and you had to manually enable them. Also, you had to configure the number of days you want logged, as on large use systems the logs would fill up quickly. https://www.papercut.com/help/manuals/ng-mf/common/sys-logging/#application-logs
