How big is the school? Do you think that the starlink data limits may be an issue? Could you not look at funding for direct fibre. Sadly I suspect that the reseller will be charging you for using their Direct Debit or Credit Card and the time involved in processing the invoices themselves.

I have ours here, the passwords were set per order, so if you had one batch of Dells they would have 1 BIOS password, if you then had another set of Dell's they would be another password and so on. We had batches of Dell's and HP's and each order had a different password based on the order number. However, the last 2 batches we had didnt have any BIOS passwords at all. Not sure what you want to do with these devices, they are awful and so slow I got rid very quickly.

I have seen something similar before. However this happened when we used google.co.uk/maps, if I switched to google.com/maps it didnt happen. Not sure if this would help the situation but worth a try if you can adjust URLS It seemed to be an issue with SafeSearch settings breaking .co.uk but not .com

I do feel it was related to the generation of CPU and Intel GFX in the HP desktops. I am replacing them all this summer, Had a newer HP refurb machine from ICT Direct as one failed a few weeks ago, tried this without a splitter and it behaved as normal. Lindy ones worked fine for me, in over 30 rooms here for me and now have 2 of the Ebuyer Startech ones, also doing a good hob.

I do it by giving all staff P1 licences, works very well by using an Office365 group and policy with the required details.

Thats weird, as the ones I use take the 1 output, and just send it to both. wonder which one you are using. I can then select which output the audio goes down, but I actually disable HDMI audio as most class rooms have seperate audio systems or Soundfield systems.

Only thing to note, if your VM host goes down, you will need to spin up VEEAM on another machine in order to access the backups, also be mindful of encryption when doing this, no key, no backups. Dealt with one last year

Personally use a mix of Yealink phones, and some Fanvill PA3's for PA systems (lockdown etc) Thats then sat on a cloud hosted 3CX instance with Enterprise Annual licence, like others have said, pretty much fit and forget. They have just also released a major system and UI update, looking at it over the next week to see whats changed.

Had our BMS upgraded 18 months ago, along with refurbishement of our main boiler room (as part of a large CIF bid). The BMS was then installed also in the other plant room. However BMS systems are complex, and require an awful lot of knowledge to design and program. When you start interfacing multiple zone, pumps, CO2 detectors and boiler controls its well out of the scope of your Nest or Hive system. The cost just for controls was well over £7000 and still required some tweaks 12 months after install, once we knew more about the system and how it works. Some of the things I still manage today is the room CO2 monitors that open ventilation flaps in classrooms once the room CO2 is high, but the outside temp is above a certain level. Ours is based on the Trend IQ4E system. Not sure where you are located, however the engineer we used for design and build is based in Bristol. There are not many around who do it, and when they do their day rates are interesting.

Wow that is quite a scoop. As a user of Bromcom I do find it is so much better that what I had to deal with when using SIMS. I do hope however they are employing enough support staff and extra cloud servers to be able to manage the demand, sounds like a huge task.

Possibly not related in your case, however had this when I installed Ruckus a few summers back, using the R750's. Somehow during a firmware update (we think) a couple of AP's randomly enabled network bridging. Very similar STP errors as seen on your switch above. It would gradually get worse, as the network drop outs would cause the other ruckus AP's to go into bridge mode and create more loops and spread the chaos, reset all ap's would fix it for a while then it would start again. It is really strange that they are being rate limited on ethernet, I would only think that network interference on that actual cable would cause that. However, your printer on port 5 may have a very basic network card and is getting swamped causing it to freak out, seen that on HP office printers when we had issues. Best of luck in fault finding.

Morning, Those figures are obviously for the server being at full load which we know is very unlikely 24/7. If you know how long your current solution runs your systems for and its suitable why change it. I recently changed my timings on our ups to just give us around 15 minutes before shutdowns are started, during testing battery only went down to around 65%. I use the most recent APC2200, it runs 2 hyper-v hosts, core switch, 2 x 24 port POE plus switches for phones and wifi, 2 x 48 port switches, firewall and BT fibre kit and 2 desktop PC's. Unless you need longer it would just go for 2 new APC2200's. Sure if I added 2 we could probably run for a couple of hours if needed.

Morning, To be honest, there isnt much difference in approaching your usual supplier. I tend to find it involves a little more paperwork, however this is very detailed as they have to follow set guidelines of the project. Depending on the value and complexity of your environment it may be more cost effective to go direct. However using the framework gives many protections. If you are an academy it will also make your business manager smile during their next audit Its a worthwhile experiment in my experience to go for a couple of framework providers and then your usual supplier direct and then compare their offers. Also look at other frameworks out there. I used EverythingICT for my Broadband three years ago and it was a great experience with them. I did feel however at the start of the process they knew straight away which company they would be recommending, not saying its a bad thing as we got very good value and a decent service but worth watching.

Morning, There is no real easy answer. I suppose it is down to how much the Leadership value using it at the end of the day. Personally use an Epson EB-L510U on ours, just ticking over 950 hours and still going strong. They are a bit pricey, but buy once buy right. Think its now a l520u.

Been a user for 4 years now. There does seem to be some inconsistancies and issues like described above. However I have done some work with them in the last 12 months and found quite a few conflicts with Sophos which we started to mitigate and it has been much better since. Its still not "perfect" however. We are due up to renew in next few months, just need to demo some alternatives to see if the switch is worth while.

100% always buy managed print devices via a Framework on an operating lease, I am just renewing for another 5 years with Ricoh on the CCS framework, they have been fantastic and are the best value also. Its not a massive hole, its designed to be a DNS filter so you would treat it as such. I am in an environment without BYOD. Who allows students to install firefox and change network settings on protected non BYOD devices anyway?
