100% I would say power. Did see this with when we upgraded some Wifi 5 Outdoor ap's so T350'cs. I now run Aruba 1930 POE+ 16 port switches on all our AP's and not had a problem since. In the old aruba switches we had I watched the POE power and they were within limits but AP's on longer cable runs were the ones that started flapping first. You could see the power requirements going up and down rapidly. We run R750's for internal ap's and I have made sure only the R750s can be master AP's and its been solid for 18 months now.

Hi all, I wonder what others are using for their Settings Page Visibilty settings, mainly for staff as students I want locked down as much as possible. So far I am using the following. showonly:bluetooth;printers;network-status;wifi;ethernet;network-vpn;defaultapps;appsfeatures;display;sound;network-status;wifi;ethernet Seems a little bare in there. I have also locked down control panel with the following. Microsoft.DevicesAndPrinters Microsoft.Fonts Microsoft.Mouse Microsoft.Keyboard Microsoft.Sound Microsoft.System Microsoft.DefaultPrograms microsoft.windows.immersivecontrolpanel I have noticed in control panel I am struggling to find the right microsoft. setting to allow access to outlook / email account settings, Especially for admin staff. If anyone has some suggestions or things I have missed please fire away!

All good this morning. It was on a go slow from around 2pm and finally gave up at 3.45, looks like its been switched off and on again.

Just died on me trying to setup forms for next year. 😲

Just spoke with our ISP, looks like a new change for the games to be embedded into search, but they are already working on a Regex to try and stop the assetts loading, Fingers crossed.
-
We do, however the URL's are generic google URL's, meaning it blocks the whole of google Unless this is a recent change to it.

Afternoon all, Seems to be the new craze at the moment with our students, Only noticed it today but they all seem to be doing it, Google Doodle is just hundreds of games. The URL seems embedded into google so not sure if this is going to be easily blockable using Netwseeper. Anyone else seen this?

Same here after all of the threats. It seem however to only update when there are changes, And in ParentPay if I need to force a sync that method still also works.
-
Looks like its gone off again too. On the first day back as well Ohh joy!
-
ParentPay also had issues this morning, wonder if they are linked in some way?
-
Wouldnt log in, Just tried again and now its working. Sure someone has switched it off and on again.
-
Morning, Anyone else have ParentPay issues this morning?
-
Remember doing this a few years ago. As Bob suggests speak to ParentPay. UPN was key in the matching, and I did a few manual checks before uploading.

Cashless Payment System - Any Recommendations/Horror Stories?
TheRobins replied to JRA's topic in MIS Systems
ParentPay seems to be the leader, Have used for many years along side SIMS and now Bromcom. It sounds a bit of a silly suggestion, but look at what systems your feeder schools either way use and see if there is a pattern. Our whole cluster use ParentPay and it makes transition very easy. To be fair they are much the same in terms of what they can do, but always check for compatibility with systems such as your catering system's if you have one. -
Wonder if it was part of the issues at the start of the week?

Latest update from Bromcom ---- We're making an infrastructure upgrade to the Bromcom platform on Saturday 30 May 2026, starting at 1am. This change improves performance, resilience and capacity by introducing Azure Front Door and additional UK regional infrastructure. This work forms part of the wider resilience programme we outlined during the March performance webinar. We expect no user-visible disruption. Service URLs are not changing, and most customers will not need to do anything. Do I need to take action? Please forward this email to whoever manages your school's IT or network — they are best placed to confirm. You'll need to act before 30 May if any of the below applies to your organisation: Outbound traffic is restricted using IP allowlists (rather than domain names) Local DNS caching is used on your network You have your own SMTP server with IP-based allowlisting for inbound mail from Bromcom If none of the above apply to your organisation, no action is required. If any do apply, please follow the link below for guidance on what to do before 30 May: https://docs.bromcom.com/knowledge-base/how-to-manage-the-move-to-azure-front-door/ Support If you have questions about the change itself, our support team is happy to help clarify what's involved. Please note that we're not able to configure firewall, DNS or SMTP settings on your behalf, those changes will need to be made by your IT team or provider.

Just had some reports in the last 25 minutes of sluggish performance, and pages needing a few refreshes to work, any one else seen it?

I am sure this is a worry for anyone, especially in the first instance its almost sounds like you are being forced out. Not experienced it myself yet, however have helped a couple of people who have been through this process. If it was me personally, I would try and keep a positive view on it, even speak to your current line manager / team and asked to be involved in the selection process or at least be updated on progress. Show willing will allow you to see what is coming down the road. It’s like any sort of outsourcing, there are good ones and there are bad ones. There is certainly career potential going forwards, more so concentrating on a strand of IT rather than what we do, everything with a plug on it and more. Schools usually have their reasons for taking these routes so again, is it worth asking why they are doing this. I did visit another school last week, a big one that’s very popular and they have had huge issues with their current MSP who they are kicking out as soon as possible. Once you start asking questions it all seemed very political and the people who made the decision to outsource have now gone themselves once it started to go south in a big way. Best of luck with it and hopefully you get a clearer picture from those making the decisions.

Run Ricoh's here with Papercut MF for the last 11 years. IMC5500's and MPC307's currently all via Mifare Card/Stickers on ID cards (staff only, students get the good old HP fleet) The option to login manually via the copier is there as well. Works really well, admittedly I do it all via the framework so the copiers come with the readers pre installed and configured. If your devices are on contract I would speak to them in the first instance.

We are writing to let you know that we are currently experiencing a platform performance issue that is affecting all areas of the system including morning registration for our customers. The only current known workaround is for teachers to use the Teacher app to record registration. We appreciate this is may not be viable for schools to implement at short notice. We understand how critical this is to the start of your school day and we want to assure you that we have already identified the cause and our technical team is actively working to resolve it as quickly as possible. We will provide a further update shortly, and we will keep you informed throughout. We sincerely apologise for the disruption this is causing. Kind regards, Osman Erener Chief Operating Officer, Bromcom
