We used http://www.e4education.co.uk Did what we wanted, not a bad content management system. I think it's £100 a year for them to host it. Overall, it's pretty good!

Hi, I have a Citrix Access Gateway and have installed the certificates on the gateway and on the servers. My problem is, when users come to access the gateway, the certificates do not load (or give them an option to load them). The only way round is to manually import them into the client via internet explorer. Is there something I have missed? Many thanks

Since installing Ruckus my life has become so much easier (cheers Simon, CPLTD) Battling with a Zyxel set-up for 16 months drove me crazy. A few days of a configured Ruckus, OMG, what a breeze. I even joked to my colleague that we should turn the PC's into wireless - I EFFIN LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

Merge them - one network is much easier to manage than 2. Especially as you have so few users on it. I did this 2 years ago when I started here. I don't know why people still have them like this, especially with MIS in place.

Anyone know where the best place to buy NOD32 is? Also, if I buy the 10 user pack, can I install this on 10 Xenapp servers. Or do I have to buy the numbers of licenses to correspond with the number of connected clients. many thanks

I am A ICT Network Manager at a Secondary school and have been asked to chat with a couple of Heads from local Primaries. Basically what they are proposing is that we take on their ICT support. At the moment, each school pays around £2000 a year for a local guy to provide them with 1 (yes one) hours support a week. They currently write their support requests in a book and when he comes in, he attempts to deal with them all. Now if we were to take their ICT function on, there's no way I could absorb this level of work with my current Technicians. What I hope is that more Primaries come on board which would enable us to acquire an extra technician to service these Primaries. Now what I want to know from you good people is: 1. Is this a good idea or will I regret it? 2. Will the workload be too much? 3. If anyone has such a system in place, how is it going and do you have an example SLA I could look at? 4. Now I'm quite a realistic guy and know the workload may be high (depends on the SLA) but I can see the advantages for both them and us, i.e. economies of scale for purchases etc, variety in the day job, getting out and about, better structure within the team and more ICT support for our school. If this comes off I would like to forge better links with these schools and bus them in to use our facilities and broadcast lessons into their classes etc.

Before I had chance to make a cup of tea, Simon (CPLTD) had found the solution! I cannot speak more highly of these guys, I post a query and have a resolution within minutes. I just wish Capita and the rest would respond so quickly. Cheers Simon!!!!

I have uploaded a second map for the ruckus and no matter how I try, I cannot get any access points to appear on it. All the AP's are on the original map. We changed the original map to the ground floor. But I have uploaded the first floor map and I cannot place any AP's on there. Anyone got any ideas? Many thanks

I Guess you are in your early twenties. If I were you, I would go to Camp America (or equivalent - I forget the one in Europe). It won't pay much, but the social side is second to none, and you learn valuable 'life' skills etc, that many employers are looking for - not just 'techy' experience. That's where I would be looking, best of luck!

Hi, I have a 2003 domain and have just added some 2008 terminal servers. Now the problems I'm having are with group policies. I can lock the users of terminal servers down with the policies available (2003 domain) but when users login to the terminal servers (2008) there are features in there which I want to lock down, but they are not there in the 2003 policies. Is there anything I can do to migrate some policies from 2008 to 2003 or am I stuck. Most of it is ok, I guess the users will have to get used to the vista'ish appearance, but I can't find a way to remove the control pan (add/remove programs) from the explorer window). Many thanks
