We are having big problems running Sam Learning through IE8 at the moment. The flash player messes up and therefore can't use Sam Learning correctly!

If everything runs as you want it to, why change. What REAL benefits will you get from VLAN'ing. Yes, it will route more efficiently etc. But at the expense of worrying you, no! Just stick with what you have. If problems arise, do it then.

I've cut coffee out for that reason. After weeks of palpitations and restless nights, I realised it was all the espresso's I was drinking during the day, not good! Tea all the way for me now!

Totally random question about Planning Permission!
KWestos replied to tech_guy's topic in General Chat
I don't know about planning permission. But what about all the illegal immigrants that will be hiding in it. You may be done for trafficking!!! -
Wow, I thought we had it bad in Cumbria!

We purchase external hard drives. Once the pupil leaves, everything goes on to it, label it and into the safe. Repeat for every year group at the end of July - dead easy. Then when they come back in in the Summer (for college reasons), just connect and away you go. That's my advice. Oh, and to your original question, I think it's 5 years!

Great idea. I think we'll use this to brighten our desktops up this Christmas - cheers!

The scripting is appalling! Most of the characters seem to have no distinction between them. It is poorly, poorly written. I have to agree, comedy is a personal choice, but this is timeless tosh!

Well done! It's good to hear youngsters doing well at sports other than football/rugby. I agree, Senior management (and the vast majority of the UK for that matter) are only interested in these sports, it's a shame! This has unfortunately happened in my daughters Primary school also. She won the County cross country championships and never even got a mention in school assembly/. The mixed football team were beaten in a final and had a standing ovation in front of the governors - it's a shame all round, but that's this country I'm afraid. But well done to you all, congratulations!

I have been asked by a Primary School of the possibility of going completely wireless, has anyone here done this, if so, how's it going? The school in question is very forward thinking and have just come back from Australia and they want to use some of their ideas in the school. Their plan (over the next 3 years) is to have every child with a netbook etc. And be able to take lessons from anywhere within the building. I could go on, but that's about the crux of it. So I would appreciate any information if anyone's tried it. Many thanks

No problem! I had a few reservations, but Ruckus is a breeze. And since it's been in, I've almost forgotten about the wireless kit. The only times I'm reminded is when outside agencies come in and I give them a temporary key for the Internet. Even as I write this (after a couple of glasses of wine) it brings a smile to my face of how simple and efficient it is - or is that the wine! :D You won't regret it!

I'll do it right now. You are welcome to come any time!!!!
