Our Local Authority is closing 3 schools to form one academy (no news there then). This goes against all consultation held (poor that it was), together with the poor appointment of the new Principle on £135,000 (amazing link about him in Yesterdays Daily Mail ). The town is in uproar, but yet the sponsors are standing by him (all the sponsors are colleges, University to boost their numbers, i.e. Diploma's etc.) What I want to know is, has any planned/initiated Academy fallen through as a result of parent/teacher protests. The Academy is being rushed through even quicker than the appalling Richard Rose farce in Carlisle, and this can only be worse! Anybody have any ideas as no-one is listening. Even the local paper is staying quite as the Editor is a Governor of one of the sponsors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The ironic thing is, the Academy is planned for 2 sites????? Basically closing one school (which hardly has any kids in, who could be absorbed in local schools anyway). So there is no need to build 2 new academies, just refurbish the two when BSF gets here in 2017

Did you notice when Hamilton was interviewed by the BBC. One of the MClaren team was recording the interview!! I wonder if this was to protect Lewis or to make sure he stays on track with his mouth!

How hard/easy is it to install Citrix Xenapp on our new blade. We are wanting to load balance it also. We have been quoted a lot of money to have someone install it over 4 /5 days (is this right?), could we do it ourselves as Citrix/thin client newbie's? Any experiences would be hugely appreciated

Do HP G2 cabinets come with side panels?

I think this is right for 1 Citrix server. MS Server 2008 (1 off) MS Terminal Server (1 off) MS Terminal Server Device CAL (as many as connected thin clients) Citrix Xenapp (as many as Terminal Server devices) Is this correct? Many thanks

Just worked out what size air con I need. My figures come out at 72,000 BTU (21 KWatt). This sounds big, have I done my maths right. We have a 8 blade chassis incl 8 blades, 7 servers, the usual stuff, very warm window, largish room. Does this sound too much as maths was never my strong point

Our server has just rebooted and some of the scope options have disappeared. What scope options do people have in their options (just out of curiosity) and any reason for them to disappear?

Thanks for the replies. For some reason they are working now. My only concern now is that we may have the 'conficker' on our network!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As many of our clients will not update via WUS and this would also account for the 'slower' logons!

I have just rebooted the server room (after the 5 year electric) testing. Everything seems to be ok but for one thing. No clients can log on. If I plug my PC into the main core switch I can connect. But any computer connected via a 'edge' switch will not find the domain. All switches ping, have an address but will not connect. Please help

Why do we bother going to University and going into IT for a meagre salary? I ask this because I have just found out that my brother-in-law earns £45,000 a year putting traffic cones out! I wouldn't mind so much but he has no qualifications, a convicted drug dealer, thief and is always fighting! He earns more than my wife and I combined, has a mortgage which is half of ours and he still moans he can't afford to live. He receives around £150 a week from his mother 'to get by' as he's always saying he's 'skint', what a load of crap! Sorry for the rant, having just found out his salary has 'miffed' me a little!

We use e4education, their link is below: http://www.e4education.co.uk You can use your 'elearning' credits with them (which is a bonus) and it's a fully content managed system which makes it easy for anyone in the school to update the website. Give them a ring, they are good!

At my old place (when Bill Clinton was in Office) We installed 2 new domain controllers, one called 'Bill' and the other 'Monica'. Pureley so we could say, 'Bill was up' and 'Monica was down' - GENIUS! (well we thought at the time). I have a new blade enclosure with 8 blades in. It is going to deliver a 'thin client' project to the school. Now what I'm after is a novel/fun naming convention for my blades. Bearing in mind I have eight, I was thinking on the lines of naming them something daft like 'snow white' and then the seven dwarfs! Anybody come up with amusing/decent alternatives?????
