I know, but to be honest, there's that much stuff I just can't be bothered. AAAAHHHHHHH! I know now I'll get people replying with, "you'll regret it", "you need to work it all out correctly". But to be honest, it's only a guestimate any way, isn't it! I know people who have worked it out to the 'nth' degree only to find it wholly inefficient. So, to be honest, I would just rather buy something 'fairly big' to do the job. Now knowing this forum as I do, I will now get loads of feedback with incredible 'large' air con's! But I'm leaving myself open for it!!!

Looking at buying a HP 10642 server cabinet. There seems to be a difference in price when there is a shock palette. Could someone please tell me what a shock palette is. My guess is how it's packaged for delivery, maybe?????

Our DHCP Server lost it's DNS scope settings the other day and I think other settings too. Is there a default set of scope settings that should be in there? Thanks

Hi, we are using the very crappy OCR National (GCSE equivalent) course at our school. My colleagues and I have been saying for a while that this is a crap course. My 11 year old daughter in Primary could do this course. And new OFSTED have recognised that this course is crap and want it scrapping. Our Further Education establishments in the area will not recognise the GCSE equivalence of it. Do other schools use this, if not, what do you use? Also, with all these Diploma's about, how there's no transparency between result equivalents. One could get a GCSE in ICT with the OCR (my dog could pass it) and someone has worked on A GCSE and gained the same award. Now you will get people saying, "it's horses for course etc.", but what a load of crap!

Anyone know a good place to buy this. I also want the grop policy resource kit also. I'm not interested in certification, just need to get some skills which I could of done with last Friday (the effin 13th) what a nightmare day that was! It was resolved with a little tweak in the DNS settings. If I'd of known it was that easy, my life would of been so much more simpler last week! Many thanks, We purchase our server licenses outright as it costs around £85 per server on the Schools Agreement. You can buy the server outright for £280 (just over three years worth of SA). I know we will have 2008 servers for more than that, probably 6-8 years, this would of taken the server license cost to £680 over that period. If I'm missing something, please let me know. Thanks

I am going to trial Citrix and was wondering about the Server version. I will be purchasing Server 2008, but is there a specific version I would need. Or would I be OK with just the standard version and enable Terminal Services. Or do I have to purchase Server 2008 Terminal services edition. Many thanks

I have a schools agreement in place for all my PC's. If I were to change the PC's which have a SA in place to a thin client running a Linux client, do I still need the Server CAL (which comes bundled with the SA). Will I just need the Terminal Server CAL instead?

What's he best way to license MS products in Schools - is it still the School's agreement every year. Or should we look into the select agreement, which usually works out the best/cheapest.

I am going down the thin client route and need a little advice. I know I need my server licenses, Citrix Xenapp and Terminal Server licenses & CAL'S, but how do I license them. Currently I have a schools agreement for all my desktops (which is paid annually). If I purchase Server 2008 through Schools agreement, is this a one-ff purchase cost? If I add Terminal Server license to my Schools agreement, is this a yearly charge If I add Terminal Server CAL to my schools agreement, is this also a yearly charge I hate licensing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
