on a good server its amazing, the vast majority are people on a power trip wanting you to play /their/ game. Me and a group of friends made a mercenary group who would do whatever for money - we had the police hiring us when they were short staffed and stuff and had a blast for a couple of months and then the "boss" admin didn't like how it was going and permanently banned us all because we took him on a 2 hour police chase around the island before leading him into a trap and taking him and a few cops hostage. it sucked a bit because a few guys in the group had JUST donated a chunk of change to the server bills. i think the last server i was dabling on was grand theft arma? not sure if theyre still up but you should defo check it out

ours is only around 5 years old now so no where near some of you guys! running at 2008r2, i should really upgrade to the newest server os. Has anyone had any trouble doing 2008r2 > 2012/2016 ?

Really? the update did say that device assignment was a "paid" feature - that was when i moved

the free edition can deploy apps fine as it has for years, but they require an apple account on each device as the apps are deployed to apple IDs. the paid edition/other services can assign the apps directly to the iPad - removes all the headache of kids logging in/out of apple account making deployments become a bit more manual task IOS 9.3 was when device assignment was introduced as an option

Any service which supports iOS 9.3+ device assigned app deployment will remove your headaches overnight... the free edition of meraki doesnt support this. If you have DEP you can enforce iOS OS updates OTA from MDM i use light speed mobile device manager and both of the above work no problem but costs about £4.50 per device per year.

can second this, upgraded to a netgear nighthawk D7000 if i remember right and went from multiple disconnects and slowdowns daily to perfect internet - and a router with more functionality that the ISP can't remotely mess around with.

I've had this too at one of our schools, the server failed a few months later after what I'm assuming was the ILO controller started to malfunction... not certain though but the device driver failed and would work - after attempting a reboot it never turned on again....

I checked, the DNS server reply was not being read in order, with windows 10 just deciding to jump to the 2nd option. this only happened after a few months of them being in place, i did read online that reinstalling can fix the issue but people had it come back up again a few months in. i just manually set the DNS servers since i only have a handful of win10 machines and only 2 were displaying this.

Ive recently been having issues with a couple of windows 10 machines not being able to connect to the proxy, after having a bit of a dig around it turns out they're reading the DNS answer and not using the local ip in the response as expected and instead jumping to an ip in a different subnet which they can't access.
