Its good to hear that its not the norm... I'm actually happy to see a demo as it will save a lot of time , but I'm not going to waste other peoples time if the price is stupid from the start and never going to happen - it however seems fairly priced

still no luck here Im starting to think its the way i have app data redirected thats interfering... one of the upper echelons has an age old copy of acrobat that doesnt support UNC paths which had to WORK so i redirected it to a drive letter ad never got around to making a separate policy to revert everyone else back... think ill do that now and play with a vm!

yeah, you are really going to have to think about the sharing data, 5up is probably not great for too much being pulled through, the ad sync should be fine. but any file transfers will kill that upload for hours. what we did was decide on a core site, and get 100/100 point to point links from the other schools to the core and a smoothwall at the core to do the filtering on all of those on a 20/20 fibre line(now a 200/200 line) its a pretty big investment though but gives you room to do file transfers between the sites without nailing your internet too bad

i have 4 sites on one forest(one can be hardly called a site, but its on its own network and has a basic specced dc for like 10 people) it works great. do some reading on DFSR if you need people to be able to work at either site - plan it out, DFSR can be your friend if you are nice to it

Has anyone had any issues with the store/ modern apps? I've just got a delivery of computers with 8.1 preinstalled... yay.... so am just jumping them to 10 to save the headache, but all of my modern apps and store tiles are greyed out/dont launch when using a domain user, I'm suspecting its the redirected appdata on the users? but the only error it gives is basically the store won't load, contact your admin to reinstall/repair, I've did some googling ran some powershell commands etc and got no further. Im just waiting for a licence upgrade for parallels then ill be playing around on a vm and a test ad policy - the computers themselves work fine however with everything else

dodged a bullet with that one, was my #2 choice a couple of months back when renewals were up... why? security and content filtering is a ever developing arena - it can't be life supported and expect to get the service you bought into at the end of the day

we have 4 schools, on a shared 200/200 fibre (was £500 difference between 100 and 200 so why not) and to be perfectly honest, the only time i EVER see the line get dented is iPad deployment days if the apple cache server decides to not play nice - id say i have about 800-1000 devices between the schools depending on the day our old 20/20 line used to get killed for hours at a time - the key is having fast enough burst to get the requests/content delivered quick so there is never a buildup of traffic. since the upgrade a few of our teachers have embraced the cloud storage/services we provide without being prompted

we use multiple AD's, GADS was never implemented because of this, I'm also referring to using the Organisation structure in GAFE not AD

Does anyone know if this is possible or if a solution exists to do this? We have the staff join groups themselves from instructions in their welcome pack etc when they arrive but - it always ends up being a few months later "I'm not getting emails i should be" it would be nice to automate it

a vpn to access the remote share? still 800gb of anything is ALOT of stuff, id be surprised if there some stuff in there that shouldn't be. unless the teacher is hoarding photos and videos.. which they shouldnt be outside of the school. the only option is dropbox or an equivalent, which unless the school is buying into it for business level use its a no, as you need to be able to secure the data if anything was to happen, so GAFE, Office365, Dropbox for business or the Laptop with TPM/1tb storage. I have the dropbox argument every few months in here - i flat out banned it in all of my schools after i found a few users had put 30+ gb of content on their personal accounts, GAFE is free but good luck getting a quick turn around on the setup - the unlimited storage is nice though.

I've been asked to try and get one for our catchment area using roads/footpaths... at a bit of a loss what to do about it How Far Can I Travel this is the only thing I've found that remotely does it but the end product doesnt look accurate? or maybe it is but looks deceiving

yeah, i don't see why you would limit it, anything crucial runs outside of the users desktop environment..... worst they can do is close their own work. av and anything else run as system so can't be ended by the user

id say try a new cable just incase theres a nick in it - i had a similar issue with my xperia z1 when a process went nuts and over drained the battery.. i had to plug it in in recovery mode for 24 hours to get it to switch on. other than that a new battery would atleast point out the battery as the issue or not but also would waste £ as I'm not even sure if phones will turn on with power and no battery
