I'm about to order my first batch of 10 evo 850s - and have never used them in a domain environment - is the performance gain as significant as stand alone? (since a lot of stuff is stored on the network etc) just not wanting to get my hopes up too much

i had a few GPOS enabled to stop it but as usual shoddy education software has meant disabling it... I introduced the SLT in one school to SSD's in their new laptops recently and all I've had since is complaints about everything else being slow.. might be time for an upgrade everywhere

As for taking photos of every child... - nope, the teachers have cameras get to it... my job is to maintain the it systems and keep them running you just have to find the happy medium of getting the it stuff done and keeping yourself busy without being used and abused because someone else can't be bothered to do what they are being paid to - don't get me wrong if you don't know how to do something ill show you how but I'm not doing it for you... teach a man to fish and all that i too have also done the assisting the site manager with clearing the drains they just need to understand xyz is your job anything else is optional extras and at will and not an expectation. though the varied tasks can be nice to break up the monotony and give you some chill time

i use fresh desk since it integrated nicely with Google Apps to manage my own workload, however would a private trello board not be easy enough for an admin office?

Is it a schools trust or a company ran thing? honestly, we've been an (primary)academy/trust for about 4-5 years and all the scaremongering around it etc.. not a thing has changed... except we do most of our stuff in house, and arent stuck with a bad LA broadband line edit: and 2 years in i got a substantial pay rise to suit the role.

I have the same system and its a nice solid piece of kit. i use the 9608 phones now as my go to... but have 1616s everywhere, they only support POE and require you to setup the DHCP options to auto configure the phones which was a pain to find when i first got them BUT the big screen on it means people don't write on the label bits over and over and over when staff move around/leave

im not sure if theres a dedicated thing in GPO to do it, but couldn't you use the Files tab in Computer config > preferences > windows settings > Files to put the template where required?

whilst true, we have corporate credit/debit cards that can be used to buy stuff on VPP so you don't have to put £100 on to buy £20 in apps(i think 100 used to be the smallest top up, this may have changed however), our finance person would never agree to putting money into apples bank account until we decide to spend it all the syncing of them to one laptop is cool, and works at first but becomes a nightmare when you have loads of iPads imo... we have the backbone and a cache server to push from the App Store luckily. So I've been sat thinking about this again as i would like to put GAFE to full use but drive is not convenient enough in a browser for normal work, and the drive apps lacking of support for roaming profiles means it a pain for staff and has to sync every time you log into a new pc... Has anyone tried creating an NTFS junction/symlink to make the localappdata folders redirect to the home drive for example so they can roam? I'm going to do some messing around, just wanted to see if anyone else had some experience or input on this
