1. That was a great race yesterday, I'm glad that Rosberg got taken out but not happy it took both Merc's out of the running. I guess it gave way to a new record for Verstappen. I was kind of hoping for a fight/drama like Belgium '98 with Schumacher and Coulthard between the Merc's but one can only wish haha. You could see during the interview's after they came out of the stewards that Rosberg knew what he was doing, apparently it was 'His' race to win before he changed his words to 'The Team'. I mean come on, second corner and you're already in harvesting mode because you used it all to get out in front? I agree @mikkydoos I was gutted for Riccardo, he totally deserved a podium for all the brilliant driving he did, but it was pretty obvious who the team were putting first in this race as the top contenders were out.
2. Only just seen your post @Norphy You have to admit, Vettel's profanity ladened outbursts are pretty humorous when he has a tantrum.
3. Agreed. Hamilton's done a blinding job, even with all the issues he's had so far this season and somehow he's still right behind Rosberg. Rosberg had similar problems last year and all he could do was throw his toys from the pram and moan, even though he was slower. Though, something doesn't quite sit right with me. The change in mechanics and the 'sudden' failures happening with Hamilton's qualifying/race forcing him to take penalties... Jenson is a cool guy, he just takes the hit and gets on with it. Although, I'll never forget JB's Canadian Grand Prix in 2011. One of my all time favourite races
4. @rich_tech Can ManageEngine be configured and used by two departments? So for example, in Support, we can all see the jobs that are coming in and take the ones we can do or assign them to whoever usually deals with that. In the office's case, the manager wants the jobs to be sent to her via the desk and then only wants the assistants to see what she assigns them individually and not what everyone else is doing. Is that possible?
5. Hi all, I've been tasked to do a little research project on helpdesk solutions for the main office/reception. In IT support we use ManageEngine Service Desk which is the most helpful tool ever as it lists all of the jobs we need to tend and can keep a record of the jobs we've done. Definitely keeps us on our toes, especially the first few weeks back into the new school year. The school manager who works in the main reception with the admin assistant's has asked if there is any kind of service desk software that they can use so they can keep track of the jobs that they need to get done in the main office as they're trying to minimize the traffic that is in and out of there. So I've had a little look about in the little time I have at the moment and there are plenty of names out there and many of them are focused on the IT side. Which solution, if any, would be best suited for the office environment? It needs to be super simplistic and straight forward... Or would ManageEngine be the best bet if there's nothing out there to cater to this need? Any names of software (whether it be installed or web based) that you may have insight/experience with would be extremely helpful. Thanks
6. Any insight on this would be helpful and I as a person on the brink of pure insanity would appreciate it. Our Maths Department recently bought in to Collins Connect and My Alfie Cloud (obviously without consulting us in IT Support first). This has been passed on to me to try and figure out as well as get some answers to this piece of whatever you want to call it. I don't even know where to start... The first thing that has come to mind just by looking at them both for 10 minutes is 'What is this *insert choice of profanity here*??' We do not... better yet refuse to allow SIMS Sync to be installed onto our server, especially after the rush of negative issues and reviews I have read so far. We opted to manually import data and update this as frequently as we need to just to keep our server clear of unnecessary clutter which 'seemed' to be easier with their guides. They then directed us down the route to use Alfie Cloud to create our imports. One of us in support has already tried to get into contact with Alfie Cloud for further support with manual imports with no luck/answer. Even the guides online AC supply are total rubbish. This is when I ask myself is there something I am doing wrong? They make it look super easy and simple yet why do I feel the need to repeatedly headbutt my desk? For example... What I'm supposed to see according to the guide: This tells me to 'Import Data' by going to the menu which will then take me to all the things I need to make this possible. What I actually see: I am going to assume the guide is outdated but really... how does this help me if the guide is incorrect and nobody will answer our calls? Clicking onto 'Manage Data' takes me to where the usernames are supposed to be so I can 'manage them'. Can't exactly manage users when I have none. I'm about to contact support again but in the mean time, any help will save my department from requiring to buy me a new desk. Thanks.
7. @SouthCoastSaint Thank you very much, that is really handy and helpful info.
8. @vikpaw I did ask most of these questions after the demo, but the lady I spoke to wasn't sure and sent me to the wiki pages they have to find answers.
9. Hi all, I have been researching Parental Engagement Software's and TASC seems to be the one I want to focus on most. Previously, the school used SLG (before my time) but it was a complete bust! So this time, they've put me in charge of the Insight Project. Before I chased up a demo for myself, I did a little research and found plenty of schools that use it seem to be happy with the set up and ease of use. I have since then had a demo with the company and I really loved the simplicity that came with it. Logging in was minimal effort and we can alter what parents see. I've read plenty of posts in terms of distribution of usernames and one time passwords but am a little skeptical on how I can achieve getting all parents to sign up. After running a report only 29 parents have an email on file out of the 1500 pupils here. Does Insight rely on the parent having an email address in terms of distributing this information? Any insight on this issue would be much appreciated. Also, I only really want the bare basics to start and have been trying to find answers to my own questions as the person who gave me the demo couldn't answer them. I've been successful 90% of the time, finding what I need to know with the TASC wiki pages but I still have some questions that are pestering me. Language Translator - Does it read the SIMS file and detect the home language so parents can change between English and said language? (The language bolt on) What happens when students leave mid-phase and then return after x amount of months? What happens to the parent logins when the year 11's leave? How are new intake parent usernames and passwords generated? Does that also rely on email? There are some parts of Insight I don't want parents to use such as absence reporting or updating details. Is there a way not include those on setup? When is the best time to set up Insight? During a school term or the half term (summer in my case)? Is there any way to link the parents to the behaviour reward platform Vivo through Insight? I do apologise if the questions seem random and all over the place, its just what I have currently planted in my head. Any advice or answers would be much appreciated. Thanks!
