Just so you are aware the policy change seems to be causing some machines to launch a chrome instance and hang no idea why but you have to kill the process to get it going again... this is really annoying google are trying to break into the enterprise but not helping themselves here...

Ok, i had the old user data dir in ${profile}\Google\Chrome, this caused a crash.... i cleared it and stuff works again i then i tried setting it to ${roaming_app_data}\Google\Chrome\ and its working.. this means either the data stored in the old dir is damaged somehow(i should have tried clearing it first....) or the $profile value is broken somehow hope that helps you Scratch that..... tried restarting chrome and its dead again... deleting the local state file i the specified folder seems to get it to start again this also fails after restarting...

Im updating the GPOs for chrome - just to see if that helps there were a lot of files with larger/newer sizes

this would explain the ticket i got earlier... chrome isn't launching - time to go poke at it them

then go for it, they won't punish you in any way other than removing the option to use hours for plex on that account in the future so you have nothing to lose. also...If anyone wants to take their chances in a big 0.0 corp/alliance hit me up and ill consider it... suspect corp history might void the offer though

Its basically someone pays money for an item that represents a months subscription... these can be then sold/traded ingame and activated from within the client so if you are rich you play for free

this is considered abuse of the system - and they can and have disabled hours for plex from working again on accounts that do it

I used to play this a lot, i still do play the jabber client eve and run a pretty large corp but i barely login and actually play

i have multiple buildings on the same network connected to a core building, so worst case the core goes up in flames and everyone is without internet but i replicate all important files to every site. this works nice for failover - one schools server failed and they only noticed when dhcp stopped being served

i have a GPO that makes a scheduled task on all of the desktops we used to used a batch script too but i replaced it with this - it can be a bit of an effort to stop it on the few days that the school is open late but I'm sure the electricity savings are worth it, though its disabled at the minute because of people working late last night. I'm sure you could be creative with conditions to get it to only do it if the computer isn't in use etc

Ive not had this problem either, though i did move a lot of our chrome data about using the go to make sure it didn't pile up on the users appdata/profile one thing i do dislike is the updating at launch its probably disable able in the GPO but i wish it would do it on shutdown so it didn't make the user wait >.< Oh also, redirecting the app data /works/ but makes a ton of network traffic I ended up doing: the user data directory to ${profile}\Google\Google Chrome\ and Disk Cache directory to ${local_app_data}\Google\Google Chrome\Cache this reduced the network traffic a good chunk for us as far as i could tell - not sure if its good practice or not! but i went from servers getting slammed from hundreds of clients to being un noticeable and forcing adblock install from GPO is the best thing ever

On this note - has anyone got any experience using google drive on their desktops with roaming profiles - the only options I've found are a tad expensive and from 3rd parties, its a shame it doesnt have a GPO like chrome

i had a kid take a hissy fit and place an iPad on the floor and decide to jump up and down on it... and the boss' macbook has a hefty dint in the side from her manhandling the laptop in her bag - I'm amazed that thing still works

Exact same issue - finance resolved it about a year and a half ago, with pretty much the same cause - i never had these issues with my old account manager at the helm but then again from this thread it looks like they have outsourced recently so...

I have blocked dropbox on our firewall ever since the day i found 7gb of teachers work on a pc, this contained stuff that shouldn't have been there. I do however allow the use of google drive since its in with out google apps and i can at least control it
