i had a TMG for a year before smooth wall and i hated it, everything was so much effort. though we got by i just found the filter to be lacking a lot Thanks for that, got some work to do now:P! We do run 3 schools and and office block through it which will be 4 schools and an office block by september!
-
we don't publish services currently, but yeah filtering/firewall and a decent bandwidth management - the new smooth wall module was something i was really looking forward to no idea, i got a call out of the blue yesterday and booked in some demo? i can't recall the company but i was told i would receive details in a few days - she just said she was from barracuda networks so i assume the company itself. no pricing yet though.
-
Our Smoothwall is up for renewal this year and the licence changes from Device to User have left a bad taste with the management in that we were been strong armed into early signup to keep our licensing as device based for the next 3 years if we sign up 4 months earlier than needed to "lock in" this pricing - without any figures to show the new pricing will be good or bad for us - the Principal Finance Officer will not take a gamble on this and wants figures that they don't have? Now i have no real wish to switch away from smooth wall as it accommodated our needs and the support when it mattered was amazing, but i am now in the position of finding alternatives to present to the finance committee along side the smooth wall proposal and would like some recommendations on suitable competitors. Barracuda Networks have been on the phone and i have scheduled a demo but if anyone has any others to throw in the mix i would appreciate it a lot.

there was a reddit thread earlier saying the m9s battery is DIRE M9 Battery Life figures : Android if this is true :welp: HTC One M9 test shows 131 degree surface temp while running GFXBench | 9to5Google incase anyone hasn't seen the heating issue

theres a difference between running and performing... and not much at all, Facebook, audiobook player, messenger, gmail the rest is all system services like nfc. i also would refuse to use a desktop with that hardware also battery advances are great, i would prefer the battery doubled in capacity and stayed that way rather than double the batteries capacity then cut it in half to make the phone thinner at the point we are at now
-
if apple actually made it functional instead of form 2gb of ram wouldn't ko the battery - yet with every tech jump where the processors etc use less power they jump on the make it thinner band wagon instead of putting a better performing battery in it. i would definitely say 2gb is better my phone is sat at 1.3gb of usage now
-
ram is there to be used... i don't get why people don't want more it makes the device more responsive and able to multi task, i had a galaxy s3 previously and it was horrible to multi task with

Im currently using an Xperia Z1 and i love the phone... but it has a few issues all of which are my fault really but whatever. Stock OS - i don't like sonys customisations and the STACK of bloatware, so i flashed it with Cyanogen 10/11 and now 12, rooting the phone initially disabled some of the cameras features because it was enabled by a DRM key, so i get grainy pictures in not well lit placed now - this has been rectified by some patches apparently on the xda forums but :effort: and I'm not all that knowledgable about it and my phone works at the minute so not touching it! unlocking the boot loaders was a pain in the backside also which by the time i got mine was required to root the device as all the hacks had been patched out android 5 is pretty nice, and the z1 gets easily a days battery and if i battery save it 2-3 days! That said, I'm considering moving back to an apple phone when the contracts up later this year just because I'm sick of voiding the warranty to have a stock phone, I'm not too keen on the nexus line for some reason.

do you have a high end graphics card? press escape, and under graphics set interval to 1, its probably insane fps overheating your card
-
i wouldn't go that far haha, i just allow the members to play the game as they see fit our only requirement is you part take in one strategic fleet a month. it just so happens one guy did a scam and made a lot of money so more people did it
-
i dont do it, I've tried in the past and feel bad doing it.. however i don't stop our members from doing it as its their game to enjoy and as long as its within the rules of the game v0v i thin the best one in corp so far was a guy convincing someone with 250b in production assets (T2BPOS/CAP BPOS/etc) to join the corp and produce all our supercaps - But first my director wants to see the blueprints so he knows you arent lying, contract them to so he can confirm they are not just copies and he did so...
-
sec = security status, average in corp is 2.0 this can go to 5.0 and as low as -10 it only affects that player, if it goes under -2 you can't enter 1.0 systems without the local navy chasing you. the delta is likely players in/out we just purged some inactive players so -12 sounds right. What things? :3 : https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?hl=en#q=eve+online+bat+country+scam&hl=en-GB&start= theres usually never a week goes by when there isn't a reddit thread about someone getting scammed by us heh..
-
Some people spoil all the fun! im CEO of Eve Who - Corp. - Bat Country and yes the members.... they do unsavoury things .. but yeah never give up assets or money, or take people up on hauling favours if you join their corp....
-
yep, its a bit silly that they don't test any of this stuff - its worked for years and they break it :/ i could have swore the trailing slash was required when it initially got released
-
so good it tanked after a season - it was horrible, also i don't even watch it for the cars i watch it for the challenges because its funny? so maybee why you and i don't see the same thing without him, and while may and hammond may be just as good a presenter it takes the 3 of them together.
-
on the same note - Top Gear atleast as much as i care will be dead to me if he departs... the entire production crew could be out of a job for nothing more than handbags at 10 paces?
-
Google Chrome Version 41 - GPO Set User Data Directory this fixed it for us, the trailing \ on the user data dir GPO setting kills it... just remove that and it should be good to go
-
can also confirm its working as expected now and everything is back to normal
-
Thats good to hear
-
Nah sorry, got handed some other stuff to do and haven't got around to it yet. good to hear your testing is going well though does it re-open after the initial setup?

http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows/150616-google-chrome-version-41-gpo-set-user-data-directory.html#post1290386 not sure if this is the same issue but - might be worth a look over
-
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=464616 just found this - gonna have a crack at it after lunch
-
its a separate adm Policy Templates - The Chromium Projects and yeah mine still says 1.0 but when i copied it into sysvol the files were all different sizes/newer
-
it will atleast stop computers that haven't upgraded from doing so - not sure if it will help but until a version that works comes out
-
yeah i updated yesterday - the hang only seems to be occurring on a handful of machines if you haven't already adding the update policies and disable chrome updates might be a good thing
