Just got this responce. Not bad for Link2ICT. Actually quite usefull.

I am on the BGfL365 tennant. They don't give out Global Admin rights do they. Would like to be able to use PowerShell stuff. I know there has been an issue of lots of staff accounts being compromised from phishing and then used to send out more phishing e-mails from that account so perhaps they aren't whitlsiting internal domains for that reason. It does have the side effect of many messages marked as with [sUSPECTED SPAM] in the subject line but they still get through without delay. So dunno what its for?

Hi, e-mail from users at our school are being flagged as Spam! This happens even in internal messages between users in the same school and domain!! Link2ICT / BGfL must not know how to route mail throught a Spam filter properly. When they were using McAfee Click protect this also happened. Link2ICT said they cannot whitelist our school domain as it would allow spoofing. But can't they look at the origin IP address and if its outside BGfL or not from Microsofts servers and it has an internal school domain it must be Spam! This situation has continued now they are using the Cisco solution which lets many Phishing e-mail with dodgy links to get through.

If this is happening with Promethean goodness know what happens with the cheaper makes !

I have done the above without the shelf or padlock. Just screw the side of the case to the wall. Works better with smaller PCs obviously.

Sorry to ressurect an old thread!! I have been poring over the variuos Sharp models spec sheets. Havn't had any demo yet. Even the basic Sharp moel has a bonded LCD and front glass so there is less parallax effect when tapping objects on screen from an angle. Also the high end models offer Superior Projected Capacitive touch (same as smartphones , cheaper screens always use infrared which will sense your sleeve or anything that breaks the beam of light as a touch) Also the Sharp screens don't have all the IMHO useless android stuff (which will date quickly and not be updatable) The OSD looks responsive and the remote is not terribly designed like some other makes.

We needed a solution that could play our twitter feed fullscreen so we bit the bullet and paid the cash for https://screen.cloud/ which had an app store and can use Chromebots or Amazon Fire Sticks (which we use) on consumer displays. After 3 years one screen has a slightly dimmed backlight. I am looking for a cheaper solution such as Google slides but need way to do twitter in a pretty way.

Guess I could have a separate AP and SSID in that room just for MiraCasting in 5GHz mode to work around the issue.

I was assured by Airtame support that it can be used as an AP for peer to peer WiFi (like a Apple TV) and still allow internet access for the device by connecting to an Ethernet cable and forwarding packets to the LAN bit keeping the mirroring traffic off the main WiFi and LAN

ARRGG - my .sch.uk not being accepted either. Tried my personal acc and an alias i setup for VLSC both were rejected!! Got error on my personal one that a Micirosft account of theis name already exists so it takes you to the Microsoft account login and then it saiys you are inelligible. The VLSE one went straight to the inelligible screen.

What would be be best solution for wireless casting? What tablet device would people recommend? In my situation we are re-designing the computer suite and the head wants all pupils in rows facing the front. In order for pupils at the back the see it was suggested to raise the screen but it would not be reachable any more so a remote tablet was suggested as a solution. Crazy? or not? What I can't comprehend is why MLS have not setup a test page with a series of green boxes that tests the connection to all the (many) domains it needs to have unfiltered. I am told by my ISP BGfL that the domains have been whitelisted but the poor performance persists. Also as MLS use a large cloud provider surely they can cope with small peaks in demand from schools. C'mon we are not talking a lot of bandwidth here. It hardly YouTube is it? These problems have persisted for a few years now and will the Capita takover make any difference? Who knows?

We use net2 Paxton doors but their wireless battery powered locks are pretty unreliable but their hard wired Maglock are fine. If you do get the wireless locks get one with key override or you will be drilling doors to get in.

@BenQ_Royce I admit i'm not sure what model the model with 6 buttons and three USB ports is. Can you identify it from the picture below? Also can the successor to this be purchased as would buy more if they were like that one. Think there was £500 differencein price and was purchased 6 months previously to other model.

Also DUH! could have used %computername% to do all the hostname stuff at the start much more slick.

The non K version is from a different factory in China and is completely different even had different pens and completely different OSD menu. Different Android apps. One is OK one is Pants.

the RP653K and RP653 (without the K) are completely different boards from different factories I would guess. If you have the one with a few buttons on the front you've got a good'n but the newer ones with just 2 button are the wrong'uns Problems such as not shutting down if there is a PC signal present are just the start of the issues with these. Also they have internal fans! The OSD menu is awful and we have had random issues using them with our VGA visualisers. Also they are picky about HDMI signal strength using extenders or long HDMI runs. Very poor quality. On the other hand the non 4K ones are great. Also keep the old speakers from your IWB and don't use a sound bar unles you need HDMI passthrough. Good Screen Type Bad Screen Type
