How does the Security of Guacamole and Ericom compare to 1st party Windows RDS gateway in terms of vulnerabilites. Are there any consultantcies that will implement and support Guacamole? Thinking for COVID-19 we currently use foldr but would like remote desktop for Apps such as ActivInspire and BYOD where the data never leaves the network.

Another dumb move from MS. Schools and Businesses may remove the "modern" Xbox apps and then realise they can't screen record. Same stupidity as messing with the Snipping tool.

More problems when I rolled this out! Some users getting prompted even though I didn't force it with "user must change password at next logon" other are not couldn't work out pattern until I realised that some accounts were set as "never expire". Don't trust it now ant wondering if I should force it now but some users will have to change their password twice! Grr!

another gotcha is if you set a new password in ADDC then set the minimum age to 1 day (as is default) the user cannot manually change their password. This hit me in testing the policy. In reality you would just tick "user must change password at next logon"

This approach has issues if you run a mixed 32 /64 bit environment. Also annoyingly Chrome App links (created with more tools > create shortcut) are not portable between computers

Grr Windows 10 Education should have all the ADMX setting we need to do this and more!! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Is there not an ADMX/GPO for this? As an aside there seems to be two versions of the ADMX for Edge there is an Edge specific one and a general Windows 10 1803 one. They each seem to have different settings. Quite confused.

Had a reoprt that unwanted headlines were appearing as popups on a new Windows 10 machine I deployed in a class. They were fairly lurid headlines about child murder etc. After some investigations it turned out it was the Daily Mail website using the Push API to send headlines to Edge which will notifiy you in Windows 10. Grrrrrr Anyway removed the entry from Edge > Settings > Advanced > Manage Permissions My next question is is there a GPO setting to turn off this c**p

I have upgraded to Windows 10 but our oldest CleverTouch boards are not working correctly since upgrading. Were fine on Windows 7 with the in box drivers. Basically Windows detects the boards and touch works but only for gestures not mouse clicks so they are next to useless for touch. Sahara support pointed me to try a long list of drivers until one worked. None did. I got the paid for https://touch-base.com/download UPDD driver to work but trial expires after 7 days and has 200 clicks per reboot limit. CleverTouch don't support the first gen boards any more!! Any pointers? Anyone else struggling wint 1st Gen CleverTouch Clevertouch Clever LCD Touch dual USB (X) GTC9CFC

What issue was being caused that you needed to keep USB on when in sleep?

the kids are regularly seeing this error come up which freezes Edge. https://www.myhelpfulguides.com/2018/08/27/how-to-fix-microsoft-edge-is-being-used-for-sharing-message/ I think this is happening with children who have poor mouse control and end up dragging things around the screen. Is there a Group Policy to lock down buttons so they can't be dragged? I suspect its actually when you try to drag tabs so there will probably be no GPO for this.

Teachers always want things yesterday and we always tell them to wait for a nice end result but are we always right to make them wait? Still confused. On my board the USB from the PC plugs into the outside of the frame but in the diagram the USB input is directly into the ActivBoard electronics. Does the ActivBoard electronics act as a USB hub and that is why there are 2 outputs from it?

Seems silly but a board was taken off the wall by painters and I can't figure out out to wire it up again as there are several unmarked power and usb ports at points all over the board and frame (for projector) Do you have a PDF of the installation instructions for this board with frame that I can use to wire it up again?

Does anyone know how to make swiggle http://swiggle.org.uk the default browser in Edge? They have a bookmarklet type extension for Edge so I guess someone could adapt the js to make a opensearch compliant XML file or even SWGfL could have hosted the XML somewhere like google do. Couln't find anything on their website. Perhaps the other option is for Swiggle/SWGfL to have a Microsoft Store app to install an extension in Edge. EDIT:Just did a search on Edugeek for swiggle and got hardly any info. Guess its not popular! It does ruin the google experince quite a bit and our Exa filtering is pretty good with TLS interception so perhaps I should just allow the kids to use Google (we are a Primary School)?!?

Had to google what a GVLK was! but it seems to make sense now.
