To disable you add your UNC share path to the Trusted Internet Zone or Intranet Zone. Original Post: We've had a similar issue which we never got to the bottom of. Windows Server 2012 R2 Windows 7 Clients Office 2010 Thought it was an issue with a single word document being opened by 30 users and then each copy of word trying to make a .tmp file so when i changed the file to read only the issue disappeared. But had the same issue with a .URL weblink file today. Think it may be due to one slow client holding it open and causing a backlog or else the Sophos AV is choking at the number of connections. Always causes the explorer.exe process to stop responding on the client (why networking issues cause explorer.exe to do this is beyond me) As I say have yet to get to the bottom of it. Have had no other issues with slowness on file share browsing. Will try making the .URL file read only but I don't think it would need to write to the file just to open a URL?!?

The Velcro idea is GENIUS!! Have been struggling to find a colour coded mouse that does not beak after 2 weeks use by EYFS and had a quality sensor. Also shortage of quality colour coded keyboards that don't feel like they're made of thin cardboard. The TTS ones are dire!!! why is is so difficult for them to get this right!! RM used to do a quality colour coded keyboard but don't sell them any more and just refer you to TTS. ARGH! Will just use a decent Logitech mouse with velcro on the left click now!! Biggest problem is the tiny ones all naturally try to click the scroll wheel and all the children's mice have a scroll wheel too!!

FastStone Image resizer does recursive subfolder resizing and other options such as watermarking or cropping. Very good but found that if you don't double check the options it will not delete the original and simply create another copy of the jpg which is compressed. Will look into XnView to see if that works better. Just tried mass image Compressor but it changes the modified date attributes and crashed on me! Not as advanced at all.

Hi, I would like to use Office 2010 to sign in to Office 365 using single signon OAUTH (modern authentication) see https://blogs.office.com/en-us/2015/11/19/updated-office-365-modern-authentication-public-preview/ This website says that this is is only supported after Office 2013. Is there any other way to do this apart from installing the Onedrive sync client which uses local storage? We want Office 2010 to be able to save to OneDrive/SharePoint/365 directly without any syncing. The Legacy "live" stuff in 2010 does not work with "modern" authentication.

I have used a private Periscope stream from an iPad. It required two twitter accounts which follow each other in periscope.

The Android module needs to be replaceable or else people will be stuck with old hardware. The life of the screen will outlive any Android or even windows builtin board. Perhaps just strap a NUC on or a Intel Compute stick. With HDMI signal switching the Panel should select the correct input thus acting like a builtin device. Same goes for Smart TV's the panel will outlive the smart hardware.

I am creating a Private Periscope stream of an assembly and want to send out an e-mail with a URL which logs them on to Periscope using a twitter account created for the purpose of authenticating to view the stream. Does the OAUTH API do what I need?

I got them primarily because they are waterproof and do not have protruding zoom to break but the tiny non-standard USB ports on the camera broke on nearly every camera. They also took blurry pictures in most cases as they are optimised for underwater and outdoors I think. The S33 is slightly improved with a standard microUSB but some of these were broken also. In the end I purchased some third party external battery chargers and USB SD card readers and banned the teachers from using the inbuilt usb port at all. We are also a primary. I am thinking of buying some Android Phones without SIM cards or iPod Touches next time. Was also looking at some cheap Go Pro clones which should not break to easily but may have the same usb port issues and most don't do stills just video.

Hi, Back in 2013 we subscribed to creative cloud via Pugh.co.uk (there are of course other UK resellers Softcat, Stone, CCS Media, Millgate, Probrand, Westwood, CounterPoint, Computerland etc) We were able to pay annually via a purchase order if you go directly to Adobe you probably need a credit card and pay monthly. You get an admin login and then you are assigned however many licenses you bought from reseller. Your then assign each user a licence via their Adobe ID which is an e-mail address. There is a Adobe creative cloud client that check for a valid licence every so often. I think you can revoke and re-assign licences to different Adobe ID as you wish and the licence will expire at some point when revoked. Looked at Rise and found the free cloud storage tier very limiting.

Once installed the app requests permission to start at boot. Also the Amazon fire Stick uses HDMI-CEC to switch to the correct HDMI input on boot. Sometimes the app autostart does fail and gives an error about re-installing the app. We just keep rebooting in this case(turn tv off and on as stick gets power from USB on our LG TV's). Haven't chased it up with ScreenCloud support but have updated app at least once and they hadn't fixed it. Not listed in their release note either. We power the Amazon fire stick from the TV although we have had an error from the stick about insufficient power but it works ok apart from the odd error as described above. We only have a single 13A main outlet for the TV on the wall. Do make sure you have good wifi coverage as that caused us issues also.

Facility > SIMS is harder than SIMS > Facility as SIMS implement some data validation whereas Facility will let you input any old junk into fields. Personally anyone migrating to Facility these days needs their heads examining.

BGfL branding of Link2ICT services has almost stopped completely apart from BGfL365 but it looks like with the Entrust branding they want to drop the BGfL bit. BGfL.org website has been taken down even though there were popular (if old) flash resources on there. I believe Link2ICT is just the Education arm of Service Birmingham. Is there still a conflict of interest issue with Capita SIMS? Guess not but Facilty/CMIS still needs to be killed off. This zombie software has lived on too long!

Sorry I should qualify that statement. It is less secure if you give blanket write access to everyone. If you are emulating a shared drive model of sharing for example.

Did you have a IPv4 default gateway? At #6 post the ipconfig result did not have a IPv4 default gateway.

I was saying that setting up a team for all staff is inherently less secure than just sharing a folder with the poeple that require the file. Hard to manage but more secure. For smaller teams of course it works well. I was thinking about Ransomware scenarios where the staff shared drive (legacy windows mapped drive) is encrypted because everyone has write access to the entire drive in most schools.

We use ScreenCloud with Amazon Fire Sticks. Use it for the twitter App. App autostarts on boot and the TV powers the stick so all the office staff have to do is power on the TV in the morning and power tv off at night.

I think there will be job cuts along the line. Interesting timing with the comments from people that too much is spent on ICT in BCC. When the NHS evidently doesn't spend enough!

My QNAP was inaccessible with smb1 disabled but upgrading the firmware fixed it.
