Got this when I asked about why we have to install a new licence evert time we renew and why there isn't a centralised way of updating the licence on networked PCs

We are renewing our licence for a year and we have to remove the old licence store and install a new one - ON EVERY PC WITH NO AUTOMATION. I am using login script to do it myself!

When I was experiencing this issue I had not entered m u/p recently but could log in and add posts etc but notifications were not bringing me to the notification screen in the app. However have just tried tapping a notification again and this time I was prompted for my u/p and now I am taken to the correct thread by tapping on a iOS push notification. HTH

Hi, Couldn’t find where to post bugs with the App Store version so posting here. Version 7.1.192 iPhone 8 iOS version 11.4.1 Issue is when I get a iOS notification from the EduGeek app when I tap on the notification to open the EduGeek app it opens on the front page rather than the thread the notification was referring to.

I love the Wisesoft tools but they don't seem to have been updated since 2009 and don't think they work with anything newer than Excel 2010. Am I right?

I’ve set each server to have a different taskbar colour (exported registry key from desktop OS which allows colour changes). Also cludged a shortcut with the name of the server on the taskbar

I still think its a good idea. I used sticky pads with hooks and lots of cable ties to route the cables from the back of the NUC.

Is this slow login not a dealbreaker for schools who don't use roaming profiles? I don't use roaming profiles to speed up login as we are still on Win 7 which is fast at creating a profile. Is is generally recommended to have roaming profiles in Windows 10 anyway?

Since touch screens took over the sound bar is rearing its ugly head. There is no reason in most cases to inflict them on yourself. Traditional IWB amplified speakers do a much better job. Just look at the size of the drivers on a sub £100 soundbar and compare to the diameter of a proper powered speaker. Also can I just say I hate soundbars and powered speakers with tiny remotes that instantly get lost in a classroom and is yet another item to keep track of. I like the Vision speakers with a wall mounted control panel which also contains the amp. It does come with an IR remote but you don't need it. Sorry to Zombie this thread but I have also done exactly this and found that the NUCs will slide (fall) out too easily. You could cable tie the NUC to the VESA mount plate to avoid this. Also everybody has to be told how to power these on as you can't easily see the power button on the NUCs with the power button on the top. The newset gen have the power button at the front so this is less of an issue now. Old type (we have) New type front mounted power button

It seems from a incident responce that they may be planning to enforce SSL inspection for all schools not just the ones who opted in. Presumabley this means that all BYOD devices wil have the have the BGfL CA certificate installed.

I couldn't be bothered to wait for Apple appointment so went to local dodgy shop to get it done for £30 Battery now lasts 2 days but speed issues since iOS 11 on my iPhone 6 are no better. Thinking about Google Pixel or iPhone 8 Plus

Are you in a rural area? If not you really should look at a faster connection. You could sign up for Office 365 and then you get a MS Word Excel for free with 80% of the features and 100% of the features the kids would need to use. You can use Office 365 on Chromebooks also but need a way to do single sign on between google and MS.

OK. Answred my own question. It is only if you want to use Music outside of assemblies and for non-curriculum reasons that the DfE centrally bought licence (England) does not cover you.

The DfE centrally buy PRS and PPL for all State schools in England https://www.gov.uk/guidance/copyright-licences-information-for-schools and this is confirmed on Copyright & Schools: photocopy, scan, screen or broadcast copyright resources in classrooms - simple advice for teachers but then the flowchart wizard on the website suggests DfE only buys PPL and not PRS but you need both?!? Very confusing.

We had three Loxit trolleys and they all tripped the power at certain times. Get the softstart unit from Loxit. I dislike the loxit design and replaced mine with more modern and easily accessible trolleys
