We have recently switched from SIMS to Bromcom and so far it's been working great. I've managed to get our documents over thanks to Salamander but I'm stuck on the calendar, we used the SIMS calendar for a lot of events and it has been populated with the rest of the years events which means it is a massive job to manually put them all in to Bromcom. I was wondering if anyone had managed to transfer it across? Salamander put our SIMS calendar in to Outlook so there is a chance of exporting it from Outlook and putting that in to Bromcom but I can't even find a way to import any events.

Hi all, Just wondering if anybody has this set up and can point me in the right direction. Since Android 11 was released some newer Android devices have struggled to connect to the WiFi. I want to set up a guest portal so the users can log in and then be authenticated against Radius on the smoothwall box. I can get as far as viewing the guest portal and logging in but then it whirls around and says there was a connection error before it can authenticate, I'm not sure where I am going wrong. The IP of the smoothwall and the UniFi box were set to be available to users on the guest VLAN before they have authenticated which fixed a problem where the guest portal wouldn't show up. I know the Radius is working properly as it authenticated people before when they were entering their details on their device and still does for Apple devices. If anybody has set this up and can point me in the right direction I'll be very grateful to have this up and running for September Thanks

Hi all, Does anybody know of a good way to do this? Ideally I'd like a button in Google Classroom which will dump all the names of people who attend the meet to a centralized Google Sheet but I don't think that exists, although in theory it sounds simple enough? I have seen other methods which involve using the calendar to plan all your lessons which then will take all the attendance during that time frame. This isn't suitable since the lessons are already working and going to plan and I don't want to increase the teachers workload and ask them to learn yet another tool. Thanks

Hi all, I've been messing with bginfo this afternoon but it is running really intermittently, sometimes it works first time on a machine that hasn't been used before but then on another machine where it has been working it will suddenly stop working with no rhyme or reason We are using the following logon script: \\FQDN\netlogon\bginfo\bginfo64.exe \\FQDN\netlogon\bginfo\bginfostaff.bgi /timer:0 /silent /NOLICPROMPT and the bginfo config file is set to create the wallpaper image in the users appdata folder. I'm not sure where I'm going wrong, everything I read says it's really simple and you just need to set up a logon script but it's so intermittent I can't put it out on the network and the alternatives aren't much better. I'm calling it a day for now but if anyone has any suggestions I'd be very grateful. Thanks

AD security groups, we get an api access forbidden error for groups but not users
-
That is what we've done, however we keep getting an error saying that api access was forbidden even though we have allowed everything it asks for. It seems to sync users no problem but not groups
-
It's installed but nothing has been synced yet. We're just trying to sync an empty group for testing at the minute
-
Hi all, Has anybody had experience with syncing to G Suite? We are trying to sync across groups, and nothing else. We are going to use a third party tool to manage the groups and assign them to classes in google classroom, but getting the groups to sync across without transferring our domain to google seems to be very difficult. If anybody can point us in the right direction I'll be very grateful Thanks

Stop users saving to desktop (folder redirect - read only).

It would still exist in the original location, you could still access it and copy it etc. There is a flag in the folder redirection settings to move contents to the new location, that should copy everything across for you -
Disabling Open file location in Windows search box menu

You can do this with a reg key. HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoTrayContextMenu Set a REG_DWORD value of 1 and HKEY_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\DisableContextMenusInStart Set a REG_DWORD value of 1 -
All of our profiles are under 100mb since the downloads and desktops etc are redirected to their home drive, so it's not too much of a problem to keep them on there even on machines with a 120gb SSD. We run a startup script with Delprof2 that deletes any profiles not used for 30 days and it seems to do the trick for us, you could always do less. I'm not sure what's happening with your creative cloud without more info, but we've been using redirected folders with windows 10 for about a year without any issues with creative cloud software so it can be done

As far as I know roaming profiles aren't properly supported any more, I think you'll save yourself a lot of agro by using local profiles and redirected folders. We spent a week or so trying to get our roaming profiles to work in 1809 and gave up, set up folder redirection and it's been much more managable. We still get the occasional hiccup but it's usually easy to resolve with a reg key or by copying files. You said in your OP that creative cloud throws a wobbler with redirected folders, what does it do exactly? We have creative cloud and redirected folders and we've not had any complaints, we don't redirect the appdata folder

Office 2016 crashing when hyperlinks clicked
ComboSmith replied to themightymrp's topic in Office Software
Hi, Does anybody know of a fix for this? We haven't got the update installed anywhere, reinstalling Office does nothing. It is affecting all our machines running LTSC 1809 It does seem to load the link eventually if left completely alone but it can take a few minutes and clicking the mouse will cause powerpoint to crash. The event viewer can only tell me it was an unknown hang -
I think you need to name the folder. Here is our xml for our websites folder tile Tiles go here Also I think you need to create a .url or .lnk on a server share and then link to that rather than just typing in the URL, I've never had it work any other way

We used folder tiles and only created tiles for super common items so they can be accessed quickly, any subject specific software is in the regular start menu
