Any one using Schoolsbroadband's Incident Management Platform. Place an order a month ago, was asked for end user details/email and then heard nothing more. After chasing multiple times I am being told it is setup, but end user has no communications and they have no idea how to even access it. From what I can piece together the end user is to access this via talk-straight hub, but they don't appear to have an account. I was expecting some sort of welcome email when their account was created and maybe some instructions on how to access and use the platform.. but nothing Anyone using this platform, can give me a brief idea of what the end user is expecting to get when setup? How is the solution? I am hoping it is worth wait. Thank you

I saw the issue across two schools, Disabling QUIC in Chrome didn't fix the issue for them. SBB do offer this as guidance so I suspect it helped others affected and worth a shot. The school's affected had the issue between Nov 2021 and April 2022 before moving on to a new provider. A working solution was never found during this time and the primary and junior school age pupils had full access to Youtube during this six month period, which was a massive problem for all involved.

Netsweeper Agent randomly not starting
stevenramsden replied to TMBS's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Yes I had this issue with SBB Netsweeper Wagent too for the past year. Support just passed it off as a O/S issue and assured me the MSI was fine. Ticket closed and went down the script route in the end -
Is is it just me? SBB's netweeper struggling to block Youtube correctly Had reports of pupils accessing Youtube which is normally blocked When testing on a pupil account I first get the blocked page, but a second attempt to access the site gets me straight in Netwseeper logs even show that it is logging and denying the page, despite it being fully accessible at the same time Thought it was a one off having seen at one site last Nov still waiting on a solution for that school, but now seeing the same at a different school today Anyone else seen and been provided a solution/fix? Thanks

SBB - Chromebook Netsweeper setup
stevenramsden replied to stevenramsden's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Had to pay the fee in the end, was told that I must have have had this setup at a different school before the fee was compulsory to avoid payment previously. I had to temporarily enable google payment service for the admin user that will be accessing the developer dashboard Which allowed me to then pay the fee via credit card SBB Support took over to complete the setup, there are lots of steps required beyond the guide, as successfully publishing the extension to the organisation is only one aspect. Needed creation of new google groups that are then synced up to netsweeper So you end up with new extra filtering groups Also discovered that the filtering doesn’t work offsite so that has changed my plans for these devices. They appear to have no offsite filtering capability which was a real surprise Our local authority provides schools a smoothwall on-premise solution, with added access to smoothwall cloud which they suggest did filter chrombooks on and offsite Thought netsweeper would just be the same -
Just following Schoolsbroadband provided documentation for setting up and publishing netsweeper chrome extension. So I can have netsweeper filtering on some Chromebooks at a school. Any one else successfully completed this process/guide? Got to the point of needing to access the chrome webstore developer dashboard, but to continue I need to pay a registration fee. Checked with SBB support and was told I need to pay the fee. My main concern is that I've had SBB's chromebook netsweeper extension setup in the past from SBB (a different support engineer) for another school and didn't need to pay this fee. Got this request to get it setup across a few different schools so want to be sure I'm doing it correctly. Don't want to get approval to pay the fee and find out I didn't actually need it. And from what I understand there should be a way to bypass the need to pay a fee if I am just publishing private apps to my organisation only

Solus 3 - AD browse - Server is not operational
stevenramsden replied to stevenramsden's topic in MIS Systems
Yes it's a single label domain name, so that does like like the root of the issue. Will look at new domain name setup when the server is ready for replacement in future. Thanks for the help, saves me spending any more time digging -
Solus 3 - AD browse - Server is not operational
stevenramsden replied to stevenramsden's topic in MIS Systems
Yes, Never worked since installed and similar to yourself I've always found PC's via computer/network selection, Recently the network selection stopped working for a few weeks but seems to be back working. Just would be nice to get the AD side working, thought logging with Capita support would help but they weren't interested in helping -
Trying to browse active directory in Solus 3 Solus shows the correct domain and I can re-input domain admin credentials to try and reconnect the AD with Solus but just keeps giving me an error message "Error in computer selection - The server is not operational" Had LA sims support team have a look and also capita support. But capita won't help and suggest it's an issue with the server and not a solus3 problem (maybe it is?) Had a look in the log file and it shows that Solus finds the domain browses the domain for OU's Finds 0 OU's and then throws the error server not operational This is small single server site, so Solus and all other SIMs components are on this single server which is also the domain controller. Which hopefully simplifies troubleshooting. No other AD related issues and I can't see anything obvious in happening in event viewer when it fails to connect up. From what I can tell the AD computer selection has never worked previously, I have successfully deploy SIMS using the network selection section or I can search a computer name or IP and deploy sims via solus successfully. Solus3 is working fine in the environment and communicating with the clients I Just can't link Solus3 to AD to help with the deployment process Any seen this and had it fixed.

I first saw this delayed log files issue end of Jan. 22/01: Spoke to the help desk who were unaware of the issue, but confirmed they too were seeing delayed logs when testing during the phone call. 23/01: Case Closed - Received an email to say NOC were aware and working on a solution. 07/02: SBB email the below, I do recall being able to use this diagnostics filter at the time and it helped me access live logs again, but can't seem to see it any more. It's important to point out that it does say that this feature was added "for ease and speed of use" (not a work around, because it broke). -------- ‘Diagnostic’ request log files Following our update about tuning our logging platform for speed and ease of use, we would also like to inform you about the first of many changes. We have created a ‘Filter Preset’ on the platform which you may now use. This will query the policy server itself rather than the logs, showing you live traffic as it passes through the filtering. This is intended for instantaneous diagnostics, any historic information gathering will still need a report. This filter can be accessed from within Logs, Request log files by selecting the filter and choosing ‘Diagnostics’ from the drop down.

Schoolsbroadband - Netsweeper issues

Hi Dave My original issue was with the filtering. I had users unable to access lots websites getting error as per my screenshot. Websites and web searches just timing out all the time and pages not displaying. With users constantly having to refresh pages. I logged a ticket, spent an afternoon on the phone to support with them suggesting I was an isolated case. Once I had seen this happening across multiple sites, multiple users over multiple days I logged a second ticket, to establish if I needed to spend my time dealing with the affect users And logging tickets individually or if it’s a wider issue that once resolved would fix all my problems. The response I got back at the end of the day suggests there was a netsweeper issue beyond webadmin access. But your reply suggest there wasn’t a filtering issue at all... Maybe I should re-open my support ticket? -

I am able to access the webadmin portal today, but had trouble on and off with this in the past week or two. It sounds like there is an on going issue with the webadmin portal and that when trying to fix this, it causes other/more issues.
