  1. Nope Only set it up last week and also my Tech has his personal iPad Pro in and same thing happens. Spooky.
  2. Hello, Found a random problem this morning but cant put my finger on a fix. We have Ruckus here for our guest wireless network and have the rule setup to allow guest access to our internal mail server. All has worked perfectly for a couple of years now. This morning I have a member of staff who is using their own iPad to access their mail but it times out. I checked using my iPhone and it works perfectly. Anyone aware of anything in an iPad which would cause such an issue? Finding it odd it picks on the iPad and not the phone! (tested on air 1 and iPad pro). Thanks
  3. found it... (well my tech did) Library Logs Lightspeed systems
  4. Can someone remind me where the log files are for Lightspeed on a Mac please? I can never remember. Thanks
  5. Well thanks both for your thoughts and appreciated. On that note, maybe I should have said other than cost, is there a reason not to pick the 5800 over the 5142?
  6. We do have another smaller server room where we house our backup server so one 5800 would be based there with a 40GB uplink.
  7. Hello, Afraid its yet another which core switch do you recommend post Currently between an HP 5412R zl2 and quantity 4, HP 5800 models. The 5412R is a lot more what I am used to however the 5800's seem very impressive and have found many references to them on this forum with some very good things said about them but its different to what I have experienced before. All opinions open but really interested in notes between the 2 mentioned. Thanks all
  8. Personally I see home learning creeping into schools. I think in 50 years we will wonder why we used to bus so many students across towns on mass every day.
  9. When we changed we were advised to write to all the companies we have purchased software from and seek proof they were happy for us to transfer ownership as technically its a new company . Tedious task but they were all fine with it although our name didnt really change. An entire rebrand may be an issue but good luck.
  10. Im in exactly the same boat and bought a couple of R500 AP's to test if its worth patching the cracks rather than going all out and replacing although I am starting to get in a very wireless mood since going to BETT.
  11. We are going for Photoshop and Lightroom elements this year as our CC4 is getting very old. Fed up with students asking why their new camera's RAW files dont work
  12. LTSB does not come with Edge and am just pushing Chrome out. I don't mean to sound negative but am fed up with fixing IE issues on sites which just work on Chrome. Maybe just been doing this and putting up with ridiculous end users for to long now. Besides, the higher ups in my place are not very likely to want any new feature anytime soon. They could still be on XP and office 2000 and not care. There is a "long as it works" attitude rather than a "how do we use tech to make it better".... When I pushed 8 out it was "my updates" which broke everything apparently. Nothing to do with the mandatory SIMS update which moved some options around. (yes Windows 8 was blamed for Capita moving one option box in my school). ....i'm not an angry person though....
  13. Just buy Veeam.... virtualise anything physical and use that and nothing else. Your stress levels will thank you.
  14. Im going LTSB. I am fed up getting flack every time I upgrade even the slightest thing so doing it one more time and not going to touch the thing for 8 years. Sod em.
  15. Not exactly what you talked about but I have been going well on Heros of the Storm of late. Hard to master, free to play and can loose hours on the thing.
  16. Evening, Found this... http://help.bing.microsoft.com/#apex/18/en-gb/10003/0), and want to install the CNAME to strict.bing.com however after going through my DNS, I just cant find what I think should be there. In forward lookup zones I have my school's records, domain records and one called msdcs but nothing to put external sites in however I have never really played with these other than the odd tweak of something which was there before. Could someone tell me roughly where I should be putting this please? Would I make a new site? Where are all the other DNS records for external sites as I can not see them here. Confused Thanks
  17. Another vote to not touch SLG here.
  18. My profile store is about 80GB for about 1700 users but put deduplication on as most the files are the same. Sits around 50-60GB I think.
  19. Been thinking and the only significant setting linked is the users, system, user profiles, “exclude directories in roaming profile” and remove the following… AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Bibliography; AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Document Building Blocks; AppData\Roaming\Serif Obviously tweak to your own settings. I find things like Office download a truck load of templates and bloat the thing out.
  20. Ink, toner and IT equipment from Silicon Alley - Silicon Alley great bunch and trouble free all 5 years we have used them. Even get loyalty points for coffee and biscuits.
  21. are we from the same school? Exactly my problem...

    Java Deployment

confused, why do you just not deploy the msi with group policy? I do that and push the config file out via file transfer and all seems well.
  23. I don't have an ultimate setup guide but all I am doing is this... -Windows 10 LTSB with classic shell -Deployed using MDT 2013 SP1 -Roaming profiles -20 second login on typical SSD/i3 desktop Working perfectly in lab conditions including physical machines and various test accounts. My advice is to use LTSB or to rip out every app using DISM. As it is so close, I am going to deploy this to two test rooms over half term for live testing but am not anticipating issues.
  24. you got me Advanced installer.
  25. Turns out it was alot easier than I imagined... It was more or less a folder copy as the file which runs does not need to be installed. I created an msi myself and can be downloaded here...
