Hello, Is it possible to centrally set it so users of Chromebooks can not join certain wireless networks? I have it to automatically access the WLAN I want but we have problems with students joining them to the guest network and moving them around the building. I tried adding the guest network with the wrong password to not automatically connect but users seem to be able to enter in the correct password. Thanks all

Shame your not enjoying it. I'm struggling to love as well and had various problems installing too. I was a rare 8.1 fan and find it a little of a backwards step but its usable. When installing education/pro/enterprise, I found ticking the "this is my personal machine" rather than its a school/work device cured a few problems I was encountering if that helps. I also installed it once and it kept throwing tantrums because it didn't like some partitions so found a GParted wipe helped with that. Ensure the bios is set to UEFI on your staff room PC (although this would only help it when it didn't boot completely but hey, never know). Good luck

I think I'm going a little nuts. I just couldn't find that anywhere! Thanks all

Hello, I asked this a while back but for the life of me, can not find the original so here I am again... I would like to use Ruckus to create a WLAN which only uses certain access points to ensure certain hardware does not work outside of an area. I have tried making access point groups but just can not see how you would then apply that group to a certain WLAN in the settings so am hoping someone can help point me in the correct direction. Thanks all

If you are happy without a centrally manageable anti virus solution then good luck to you.... very good luck.

isn't intune something stupid like £7 per device?

Just found this.... Compare Windows 10 Editions So then no real difference other than the long term service plan but can someone tell me why you would want to upgrade from Home to Education? Is it so you can offer staff Direct Access and workfolders?

I currently only have mak codes for education and pro. Enterprise is there but no licence keys. Hoping KMS will appear over the summer so I can get playing.
-
Well good luck. In a couple of years you will be cursing vCenter, Azure sync and some piece of 30 year old software the end user insists they need even though there is a modern version of it just like the rest of us on here

Experience over qualifications any day of the week. To me, the perfect place would be somewhere which would take you on as a tech while either paying for or subsidising your training courses. If it is education you really want to go into then you are looking to be a jack of all trades and one certification may not suit the required role.

Does anyone know where to get blank inserts for laptop DVD drives. I know the things exist but cant find them to buy anywhere. Thanks

Got a Dell server packed with HHD's (about 30GB) with Veeam on it.

year 7 gets 1GB year 8-11 get 5GB year 12-13 get 10GB as well as shred department drives... They all still moan they don't have enough though.

I thought the AP's were cloud controlled so were useless without signing up for the paid deal? If I am wrong then I will get on the next webinar!

trick is/was to copy the xml to the machine rather than link it to a network share.
-
Just to add, I'm a big fan of Win 8 however at this late stage, its not worth the time investment to configure it. The start screen can be quite a nightmare to configure and get right alone.
-
Then I use Veeam to restore it with the SQL explorer or I would just restore the entire server in the minutes it takes.
-
I will fight any man, woman or child who claims Veeam is not king of backup solutions

Morning, Sure it was possible but cant see how to do it. With Ruckus, can you have a WLAN only come out of certain AP's? We want certain laptops to only work in one area and this seems to be the best way to achieve this. Thanks

had what sounds like exactly the same problem with Probook 430 models. Assuming you are running 8.1, ensure the bios is up to date, open the device settings on the wireless and ensure it is set to not allow the device to sleep to save power; however my technician found a new driver hidden deep on the HP website which fixed everything. If you PM me on Monday, I can send the driver over to you. Cant guarantee its the right one for you but it fixed all of our problems. I would do it now but have got into the habit of turning my work PC off over the weekend!

agree however the synchronization manager is well hidden away. Only learnt about it from forums

For future reference, just found this... How to delete a user from Office 365 which has been synced with Dirsync Seems to be working but removing 3000 users.... hoping there is a quicker way If only the sync asked you what to sync when it first loads!
-
Change of question, I have just done some testing and the users remains in 365/Azure AD once the OU is removed. Is there a way to hide these users as I have 3000 SLG users in my Azure I dont want now. Thanks
-
Mad question but this wont delete the accounts from the OU I dont want included and sync it back because I have hybrid running will it?
