Maybe the person who requested this had a point. I bought a Dell server packed with RAM and CPU power along with a 5 year warranty for about the price of 5 years of warranty for my older ones. I would make the person requesting it to jump through some hoops and show you some numbers.

Only a guess but I would imagine it would error out and not create the AD user's account. You should be able to test this if you point GADS towards a test OU.

About half our subjects have direct access to Chromebooks so they tend to work from them when in those subjects and in office files during other lessons. They are encouraged to upload their work to the google drive and edit it from there though. We don't offer any other way of getting your files other than google (by design to increase use).

Hello, Email is one of the things I admit to knowing little about when it comes to the enterprise so apart from a few Exchange/mailbox tweaks, I am very much a total noob to this so please go easy, don't use any big words and pictures and or puppet use in any response are encouraged. Is it possible to split my email between onsite exchange and gmail? To my understanding, my local broadband supplier (in this case, run by the county council) own my domain so mail is routed to them and they push it onto me and my exchange. I am sure I have heard of some schools migrating some mailboxes (students for example) to google mail/365 while maintaining staff onsite? Before I goto my supplier and ask the question, I would like to know if.... 1/ Did I dream this is possible or is it real? 2/ What exactly am I asking for? I assume there would be a tech term to ask when talking about directing certain mailboxes to somewhere else. I would love to push just my email to google to start with so I have something to show the higher ups when I put it to them again as they are shaky about an entire migration at the moment. Yes we have a nice 3 year onsite warranty but my lot do like dropping them or giving them to their infants. To ensure the warranty is upheld I would like to get them repaired at a registered seller but have not used much HP kit before so need a contact or two.

Microsoft Data Protection Manager should tide you over until you get Veeam going (the worlds most wonderful thing). Should be in your Microsoft licence agreement. You could also kick it old school with robocopy

I would be wary of PAT tests as I often find what the perceived level of safety by the person doing it is more often than not nonsense. Alas I don't have the links to point you to but would read up on exactly what the law says and wouldn't be surprised if your PAT test is just a suggested level of protection rather than a legal requirement.

nope nothing at all. The task sequence enables bitlocker, restarts and it asks for the password. No changes or updates at all.

Evening all, We are enabling bitlocker during the build of some new HP laptops which have TPM onboard and enabled however it keeps asking for the bitlocker key upon every reboot. Apart from that it is all going well with the key being saved back to AD correctly and although checking group policy, I can not find out how to change this. If we put the key in, sign into the laptop and goto bitlocker options, we noticed you can choose "let bitlocker automatically unlock my drive". If you do, then you don't have to put the key in anymore (problem fixed) but there must be a way to enable this on the build rather than having to enter the code in on every laptop during the build!. Really need some help on this as time is ticking before we have to start building these things. Thanks Windows 8.1 and MDT 2013

You have the money sitting there for a surface Pro 3 then GET ONE! Well built, lightning quick and the teacher asked for it their self. People here are talking about linx tablets and atom processors and am willing to bet they are the same people who shop at lidl. Also they are dropping in price at the moment (even think if you order from MS store you get the keyboard thrown in).

Evening all, My Head's PA is after a thin, light and powerful laptop to carry about. I was thinking an Asus Zenbook but wonder if anyone here can used one and can comment on it. Failing that are there any other ultrabooks you would recommend. Surface Pro is out as she has no need for a touchscreen and although not ruling it out, I don't think a MacBook air is for her as she does not migrate to IT changes to fast. About £650ish. All views welcome.
