Licensing for BBC News streaming in reception
JATSO replied to CAWJames's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Surely as the BBC is a public service and you have a licence you can display in your premises. Maybe wrong buts that the way i see it as long as your not rebroadcasting their content. -
Nothing gets changed by me all set up by Capita.
-
According to our ICT Support Team they pass the problem onto [email protected] and they informed us initially that the service had been restarted by capita. Well its 2 days now and still not working.

Well test done had to give up on Gotomeeting didn't like Edge or Chrome just gets cut off even though GoToOpener was installed, so they used Team Viewer using Chrome. Local account with PowerUsers rights on the PC in the conference room.

Agree with 3s-gtech on this one, had similar problems in my last job with using generators to power a PA System for The Duke of Kents visit back in 1992, lets put it this way we didn't here much of his speech and the hole i dug wasn't big enough for me to hide in. All the crowds could hear was thump thump thump from the speakers because the generator couldn't cope with the power being drawn:D

Sims is hosted online so how would I check that? Unless our old local sims server plays a part for Hosted Sims. We only have our old local sims server which is used for admin docs which sims hosted creates an RDP to and connects to the files so not sure why SSM on the old local sims server would play any part. I will have to check as I am at another site at the moment. Thanks

Beginning to wonder if it ever does work and was it worth moving to hosted. Always seems to be offline since we started using it in January, anyone else been having a constant offline for Teacher App? The management console shows not data just the devices.

About to test this, this afternoon with Education City. I thought that was the issue the Deputy Head was having problems so I have arranged a test onsite this afternoon, so this post just confirms my suspicions. Thanks for posting:)

and the batteries will be probably flat because someone left the CD/Radio on, so you'll need a big charger.

Nice, I took some last night on my Canon 450D haven't had chance to review yet. Be interested to compare as I used the same lens i think.

Nice, What did you take it on?

We have bought a mixture of some HP 250 and Lenovo B50's and not had any problems, but the so called educational laptops from a major educational supplier which cost nearly a 3rd more were a bad buy and has put me off asking them again, they were falling apart and the motherboards in nearly all of them had to be replaced along with a an extension of the warranty after I complained.
-
Same here, I had to reset my password though for some reason. The last time i was in I had to call them up because no licences were being showed. I think they force a reset after so long so it pays to have that recovery email or text a mobile setup.

Hi, We moved to Hosted Sims and MISSync needs to changed in settings to point to our hosted setup. Does anyone have any idea what I should put in connection settings? I have account details for a 3rdparty User for sims such as groupcall and Parent Pay. Thanks Jatso

GDPR and email compliance
JATSO replied to ghockin's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
I wonder if this could be done with GMail? does anyone know? -
They only get confused because they are not aware of how to use it. Show them how to use it and if it doesn't work for them then they switch back to what they are comfortable with.
-
No need to be clever to use Extended Desktop. Then surely they need to drag the outlook window on to the 2nd Display. They are teachers they should be aware what they need to display and what is not needed.

"A world of special offers" Probably more spam:D

We use these by the staff in one school. I think they available in larger capacities. https://www.uk.insight.com/en-gb/productinfo/usb-flash-drives/0001892089-00000001
