You should also look at the CPU usage and Ready state on the VM to check it isn't bottle necking due to other VMs on the host, if you give a VM 4CPUs it will wait till it is able to lock 4 threads on to process this adds wait state to VMs and can cause issues so if the box has a high ready state currently then other VMs on the host are hogging resources they probably don't actually need so reduce the vCPU on them to reduce the overall ready state and improve the performance of other boxes.

Just such a poor interface and build quality wasn't what I expected for the cost and they are just not great so far hence it went back in its box. It is also very S4B client tied in which if you watn something similar to traditional PBX phone with hotkeys and functions its not for you the Snom is the one. If I am using Skype for Business I'd take a CX handset ideally CX300 as its just a usb device and then probably use a Snom S4B approved phone for common areas etc... We have seen a high rate of failure of hook switches on CX600s, maybe we got unlucky but they are so over-engineered its crazy and a lot of folks won't use the built in calendar and features of a CX600 anyway I suspect. @localzuk runs his own home brew PBX in his school I believe from past posts on this area

I would suggest you talk to NetApp about how it would or wouldn't possibly work, in my case the user very much didn't have any rights to the server the data was on as it was a central file server so don't believe it required that level of rights to work.

Can assure you when I was hit with it the Server that hosted files wasn't impacted as we scanned that and checked and inspected it and all clean itself, we found 1 client that had the infection and all the files that user who's Pc it was got impacted but VSS had gone so I still don't believe a nix or other variant file server would have helped although I guess it depends on how it deleted the VSS snaps if it relied upon PowerShell that maybe a way around it as the Nix won't have that on it but it may have just gone in and deleted things and the user would have rights into those areas most likely....

I'd argue its not that bad.... I would expect your needs as a school are far less complex than the ones that we deal with where we have multiple sites and pools and phone lines around the world and leased cost routing to do with it, which works great. A simple install won't be that hard at all I wouldn't expect for you. RBS Group still uses soooo much win 2003 it is horridly scary they have shiny new PCs in the branches I've been in lately with Win 7 you think cool then they do all the work in Terminal Servers running 2003 and really old IE browser version that are non supported on Win 7....

That sounds to be DNS lookups timing out and giving up are you really sure they are setup right? Machines internally should have the internal DNS Servers setup on them and the server(s) with DNS role should have forwarders within DNS setup either to external such as your ISP or Google's or smoothwall (and then Smoothwall your ISP / Google) however that last bit is depending on your setup of Smoothwall.
