Sounds like a DNS issue what IP does DNS check throw up if you connect a Laptop to the BYOD? You will need to put something in DNS to either make it lookup the IP or some rules in Smoothwall to let it go round in a circle if your publishing exchange via Smoothwall. This will have been answered on here several times on here im sure

Can you compare me an Granny Smith with a Braeburn as that is what you are basically asking Both are PBX's, probably do the same thing and features just a different vendor.... one may have a slight different colour / layout (in apples colour for example). Buy wisely as it will need to last 20 year so ask questions around firmwares and software upgrades as most exclude them and often its throw it away and start again to get new firmware so they have a high chance of built in obsolescence, I know @robk did a new PBX the other year so he may have some ideas on questions to ask them

I see labels in those pics so its better than lots of places, I guess this is the joy of not having standards documents all contractors should adhere to etc...

ScreenOS is used in the NetScreen platform and the SRX's use JunOS, bar the Netscreens I boxed up here and sent back to ATOS (who Love them so hope they are patching like crazy) I've not seen NetScreens in the wild for years as most folks seemed to use the JunOS based kit so suspect yes its not good but actually risk to schools probably low as most probably used an SRX not a NetScreen

I spent most of my day sat in a chair fixing issues so have put some weight on I accept that, in my last job I had 2 sites so was walking around campus which was 3/4 mile long from top to bottom of the main site due to the hill and tehn across the road to the lower site etc... In my current job jumping on planes to fix issues miles away isn't cost effective and teleporters haven't been invented yet for me so I have to sit at a desk on a phone explaining how to do something to someone 1000 miles away or controlling the screen remotely for them to do it.... I would suspect something similar could be said for PAs and other roles that involve sitting in a chair in one place for most of the day but this is a forum of IT people so risk is quite high.... however you get amazing people like @Joanne who's a body builder who does crazy things when not sat in a chair all day!

Hope they get it back @bossman I assume SLT will be reviewing the school policy on USB sticks after paying all that money out to get it back and re-thinking that they are portable transfer units not life long storage

Some down here in London area are 70 dead apparently which sounds pretty harsh, this needs to being back the discussion to raise the speed limit to 80 or higher its perfectly safe with modern vehicles to get ones right foot down

Would be well worth a discussion with your county finance team, when we looked at changing when I was in Edu they had issues with us looking as they had lots of custom reports and stuff they issued that they didn't for other products so we had no real choice but to stay with what we had and suffer.
