I have many 5.5 and a 6 setup and the 6 interface is not as slow as 5.5 but still everything takes longer in it than the c# client. So much clicking to get into things, so much stuff that was a right click voilla is burried away. Its like Vsphere for dummies or something... Also was interesting I had a support call with EMC the other day and given they are also part of VMware the engineer commented how the interface still sucked in 6 and that as far as he knew in his region the top request is for a c# interface back to speed it up says a lot that someone went the wrong way....

Certainly would recommend Gamma they are the number 1 for a reason, they are not the cheapest however, BUT having gone down a cheaper route and paid the price in service etc we will not be doing that again so Gamma it is

Do you have it fully patched if its 2012 R2 as there was a bug introduced the other month on 2012 R2 DFS Role that caused that issue, it was patched in September I think it was or you could get the hot fix yourself and apply as we hit it and was annoying. As a general thing DFS is great as long as you monitor it and use it sensibly things like check your staging area is sized correctly and do that frequently and monitor for backlogs and fix issues if they occur

If you have a good and stable LAN and you are not really needing to send many updated over VPN, to remote sites wtihout local WSUS then that setting isn't that helpful as you wont be on a metered LAN Connection so if its a good one just leave it off and save the disk

I have in the past self-built but usually for Small firms / Charitys and found I couldn't get the same tin from HP for the money at the time. I found the lack of features you get in some of the big name kit like HPE and Dell can be a pain and generally you got more bang for buck and can pass the buck easier for issues as when its hard down and the world is screaming at you having to do component by component fault finding isn't something you always want so passing the blame to HPE or Dell is a nice thing

Booking Specific trains is the way to go, I can do London to rural Yorkshire for about £30 return in "scum" class. That can be done when booking circa 4 weeks ahead but by choosing the specific train makes them quite cheap, if you do open trains you always pay more. Shorter booking is about £60, just looking at Christmas trains and I can get from London Kings X to rural yorkshire on VTEC for £16.50. As for advice, as has been said the TOC website is often the cheapest or has perks, for example Virgin Trains East Coast if you book online with them you get free wifi codes VS via 3rd party no free wifi codes. Standard Class has a trolley service and food car to buy food from and the refurbished seats on VTEC are not too bad even in standard class.

You can get Phones that have Lync embedded in them such as the Polycom CX500 & 600 and then you can get some with compatible firmware that are certified for it such as the SNOM handsets which are nice and then are more programmable as they are SIP phones with Lync featuers so you can customise them as required. We use mainly the Polycom CX range either 300 (which is a USB phone so needs the PC logged in and S4B client open) or 600's which operate without the PC or via a USB Link cable to sync the calendar to them and allow control via the Lync app.

Worth looking at Skype for Business perhaps given that is Microsoft? You can port numbers up from on-premis or use new lines for it. I know @robk has been looking a lot at this and doing some testing recently

That is just what my mum does, she hates the attic when its full of them, we have an automated fly insecticide that goes off every 90 minutes and it works wonders at keeping them down and then a few times go up with the hoover and suck them all up.
