  1. Ok, no worries. I'll wait to hear about the 1100 :-) thanks
  2. Yes please to the 3050 if it's still available, and 10 aps. We're running a 3050 out of warranty at the moment and want to make sure it gets through another couple of years so would be very useful as a spare. Could also make use of the 1100 and another 6 aps but for a non education use, so may be best going to someone else. Would you be able to ship them if reimburse costs?
  3. We buy an advisory service from the LEA, who oversaw the process, but all of the actual work collating and redacting the information was done by staff from the school. Other staff had to accept a reduction in IT and admin services while it was completed.
  4. I think it has to be really over the top to be considered excessive. The biggest one we dealt with here (Large ish Primary school) cost us around £4500 in labour to complete.
  5. I got my daughter a moto g6 for her 10th birthday, and she loves it. Has had it for 8 months now, and it's survived a fair amount of abuse. I also have one as my work phone, and got my dad one, no issues with any of them. They are a little over budget, currently £139 on Amazon - the amazon one has 64gb memory, twice what it has from elsewhere.

    Which ipad

The education model is the same as mentioned above, the 2018 version, just with education discount isn't it? I'll need to get some quotes in and see if they offer the same level of education discount on the Air3.

    Which ipad

Thanks That is pretty much my thinking, the extra life we will get out of it at the other end will off-set the initial purchase price now. They nearly always launch a new ipad just after I buy some, I'm used to it now!

    Which ipad

Over the summer I need to replace some of our oldest ipads, but I'm not sure which model to go for at the moment, it's normally a fairly easy choice! We need at least 64gb of storage, which rules out the cheapest 6th gen ipad. 32 ipad 6th gen 128gb devices are approx £10,600 (web prices, will obviously get quotes) 32 Ipad air 3 64gb devices are approx £13,250 The 6th gen came out a year before the air, so it's reasonable to expect its support will end a year before an air 3. The cost per year is then not vastly different between the 2 models. Are there likely to be any more devices released this year? Before anyone suggests alternatives to ipads, we do have other devices in school, but these are replacing ipads which are used extensively.
  9. Libresoft is what we use and are very happy with it. Nice and simple, easy to give pupils access to return and issue books without access to the other bits.
  10. Why create her a new account and not just rename her existing one? Add an alias for her old email address and set her new name to the primary address.
  11. It's half the price of reading cloud, I thought it was very good value? That was for the primary version.
  12. We use libresoft, having moved from Reading cloud. I don't really see the librarian anymore as it just works, all staff are very happy with it.
  13. I get the screwfix own brand stuff and never really had a problem with it. Cheap and can go and get it if I need some. https://www.screwfix.com/p/cloth-tape-27-mesh-black-50mm-x-50m/5201v
  14. Normally easiest to deploy to a virtual machine when building an image, can take snapshots at key points then too in case anything goes wrong.
  15. We got our last one from Serversource, they do refurb ones but meant we could go entirely ssd for storage and still save money compared with new.
  16. The vision techconnect remotes are good, but are pretty pricey.
  17. Edge doesn't give access to the system print dialogue, so we haven't been able to use it - users cant enter the copier code into the driver. Otherwise we probably wouldn't bother with adobe. Steve

    Budget CCTV

We use luxriot software here on a server. The free version supports a few cameras, I run the free version at home. Steve
  19. Do you have ip helpers configured on the switches pointing to the ip address of the old dhcp server?
  20. They dropped 32 bit support in the 2017 version and that is the only free one available now. If you aren't on 64 bit you may be out of luck with sketchup.
  21. We use the last free off-line version of sketchup. Sketchup make 2017 I think it is.
  22. Something like this https://unicol.com/products/stands-trolleys/vs1000-stands-trolleys We don't have one with a TV on it, but have a similar one which has a CCTV camera on it for lesson observations, which uses unicol kit. They have always been really helpful when I have contacted them in the past, the base, poles and mounts are all interchangeable, and the poles can be cut to length.
  23. Unicol do this sort of stuff and it's good quality, but generally isn't very cheap. I only use them for bigger av installs, such as in our main hall where I needed a custom mount for a very large projector. You should be able to get a base, a vertical pole which you can cut to length and a monitor mount to fit it.
  24. Sounds like a very similar problem I am having trying to get an Intel NUC to pxe boot. It says Succeed to download nbp file, and then goes back to the boot selection menu. Other machines boot fine over pxe, just not these ones. They have an intel i219-v nic in, not sure what the surface pro uses? Have you tried updating the firmware in the dock? Annoyingly for me, the latest bios for the NUC pc's is quite old, there is a newer version which they pulled for some reason.
  25. I rolled my master vm back to before the capture, resumed the task and captured it again. The wim ended up 4gb smaller, but just applied it quickly to test, and all the software. No idea what happened the first time, but working now! Thanks for the help.
