Are people still deploying Adobe Reader for PDFs, or just using Edge? Just trying to cut out another bit of software that needs updating.

Currently looking for an MSI for the latest free version of Adobe Reader - does anyone have a source for this? Thanks, Fraser

Hi there, We have distributed Adobe Reader DC across the site in order to try and resolve the same issue with Adobe Reader XI but there is still no change. I can logon to a PC in the Staffroom and see that there are 4 print queues assigned to the PC and all the print queues are available in a multitude of applications with the exception of Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is only giving us the option to print to the default printer on the machine. This has been replicated in various locations across the site but cannot find any solutions. I have posted this issue on the Adobe Communities/Forum and only got the 'It works of for me messages' but if you google the issues, it appears there are a lot of people experiencing the same problen. For the time being I have removed Adobe as I was getting too much ear ache about the problem and have installed Foxit instead. However, I want to get to the bottom of this issues if possible. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi we have some PDFs created by an education learning company they are around 10 pages long and are a mix of portrait and landscape pages. When our staff print them out to have as notes, adobe will not print them correctly. It seems to be an issue with the landscape pages. In some cases when the document prints out some landscape pages are bank or in other cases once adobe reader starts preparing the document to the printer it gives an error message saying pages not selected, then it prints the first portrait pages and stop when the document changes to landscape. I have managed to work out it’s an issue with the orientation set-up on the print setting, its set to auto, to read both types. Then you put the setting to either portrait or landscape it prints fine. However this is not a good enough fix for us. Any suggestions? Regards, Lewis

I visit a school once a week to look after their IT needs and they are having issues with Adobe Reader prompting users to update. However, the system is currently setup to not give them the ability to update and therefore they requested for that to be suppressed. A colleague of mine added an ADM file to an All Users/All Computers GPO to stop these updates but users are still being prompted to update. Does anyone have any ideas as to what else I can do to sort this out? I am there this afternoon (16/01) and have a lot to get through so would like to be prepared as much as possible FYI, they are a Server 2008R2 with Windows 7 Pro x64 clients

No fix available yet, although if you have 'Protected View' enabled in Adobe Reader XI you should be safe. Source: Adobe (via FireEye) For a technical overview of this vulnerability... The Number of the Beast « FireEye Blog
