Ok I'll make some enquiries thank you. Just read this and Jamf do recommend it as best practice with 1:1 or shared devices. https://www.jamf.com/blog/what-are-shared-ipads-in-education/

We have a Mac Mini with Apple Config 2 installed on it but it's not using Content Caching. Is it worth setting up?

Hi all, We use Apple School Manager and Jamf at our site. We've had some licensing issues which have now been resolved but it's meant that well over 100 iPads have failed to install all their apps as they should despite being in the correct group in Jamf. We've had to manually find the serial for each iPad, go to managed apps in Jamf and click reinstall > yes on each app which is very tedious. My question is, is there a way to automatically force reinstall all the apps on a bunch of iPads at once? Jamf documentation suggests no but i'm wondering if there's a secret way to do it through ASM?

And.... Breathe. Finished at half 6 today!

With Google Docs and OpenOffice software I can see why they're going to remove it. Would love some quality of life updates to notepad though!

Lots of new starters and with the large amount of technology changes made over the summer our workload is astronomical and stuff is falling through the cracks. Keeping my head down and getting on with what I can. We don't have all students back until tomorrow either.

A lot of staff here just have cup of soup for lunch. I also just do a sandwich and some crisps with a few tomatoes in a box.

Hi all, I have been given a project to setup and document some new pagers for the medical team. The pager unit in question is the Retekess TD175 Guest Paging System. I've paired them and the range is pretty good even through walls but there doesn't seem to be a call all function? Looks like you have to individually type them all in. Does anyone have experience with this pager unit or a similar one in question and has an idea of what I can try? I've read the manual thoroughly and the only thing I can see is to turn them all off by dialing 999 on the unit.

Put all the details in the Staff Handbook if it isn't already. Reiterate the use of the helpdesk in the email also. We also made some everyday IT tips to distribute to help new staff troubleshoot something like Windows + P before contacting us so that could be an idea?

Yep we're currently in the process of removing desktops and switching to docks. Finding a decent dock is a challenge though. Everything is moving to 365/teams so staff can work from anywhere including at home. Staff here also have iPads as all students are going to soon have 1:1 devices (also iPads). We're in the process of gradually rolling it out but the moving of everything to 365 is also for student use with the iPads. We've had to make significant investment into the wireless as well, as you would expect to be able to support around 30 iPads in a class.

This made me chuckle. Given the current state of the lines it must be well over a million apologies in a year now rather than one million over five years
-
We use apple configurator 2 to do that.

Awesome thanks will look into teamslink. We're going all out on 365 so being able to manage it via the admin centre sounds perfect.

Hi all, Following on from a thread I posted the other day we are reconsidering how our phone lines are managed. I've heard that some schools use Teams for their reception mainline? Has anyone got this in place and wouldn't mind sharing a bit about how it works?
-
Anyone else use Netfuse for their phone lines? What's the general response time for your tickets if so?

Ofqual and DfE studying ‘feasibility’ of ‘fully digital’ exams
Brax replied to DrCheese's topic in General Chat
That's really good to know, thank you! We're moving to iPads here so i'll forward this to the exam's officer for info. -

You're missing out on Andor, it's fantastic.

I am VERY excited, absolutely loved Thrawn in the heir to the empire trilogy and it's a dream come true to see him in live action.

Yep me too, driving me nuts. Just want to look up the timetable for a room. The manual login is the only way to get in pretty much.

Sounds amazing being able to see it on the big screen. How long was the break between films?
-
We use impero. Does everything really. Not sure about their current pricing though.
