I'd strongly suggest looking into exam reader pens. The window for claro papers is so short now it gives the EO little time.

Onedrive might be why. We managed to get it working but only in word... We had to try and recreate the certificate as best we could in word.

hi all, The reprographics team are encountering an issue where when they try and do a mail merge using an excel spreadsheet as the data and merge it into a new file in publisher it freezes completely with no error message apart from microsoft asking if you want to restart the application or wait. Any ideas?

Yes same here but they only really use it to change the wallpaper. Common MDM's don't yet (as far as I'm aware) offer the ability to restrict focus. We use Jamf here.

We have dedicated devices in our case and just remove the proofing tools.

Lol I use that model for small printing for some practice exams. In some ways it's much better than some modern laserjets we have across site, rarely run into issues with it!

A lot of people in this thread have already said most of what I was going to say. 1. Exams take priority over anything else. 2. Befriend your EO and get them to send you a seating plan/timetable in advance to know the IT requirements each day. 3. Look into automating and making things as easy as possible especially from a word processing/printing standpoint. (Again as others have mentioned examwritepad is good for this) Maybe too soon to look at this but I really suggest to look into exam reader pens with the SEND/exam access arrangement person. This gives you less IT stuff to focus on as they just require headphones and getting them charged which is easy enough. Whilst we’ve used Claro reader in the past the pens are much easier for all involved and take away the total number of laptops needed for each exam. I’ve been finding Gemini(Still bard to me) is better for writing as you get greater control over the output with drafts and rewriting it to be longer shorter etc… GPT gives more accurate info and is better at coding.

We're having an issue where people are taking cpd/training through adobe connect and despite adobeconnect.com being allowed it gets stuck on "preparing the room" anyone else ran into this? Is there something else I need to unblock?

Resolved. For anyone's future reference it lost the image source. We had to click on the picture on the cards and under the dashboard menu where it says "source" change the image source back to "database, point to image file" and choose the folder with the images in. Make it correspond to a unique ID.

Resurrecting an old thread... We have the cardfive vision software and it's just stopped picking up photos and there's no indication as to why? All the photos are stored in an area on a network drive. How do I get it to point back to this? (also yes we're going to upgrade this in easter to a better system!!)

We state in the AUP and in a window for a logon script that network usage is logged. But most students find out in their computing lessons when their teacher takes control of the screen and puts them back on task! Also smoothwall blocks them often so they know it's being monitored.

Yep, we rolled out iPads about 5 months ago and some students today decided to break each others iPads. Screens completely smashed through.

Hi all, Ran into an issue with one member of staff where their outlook signatures keep disappearing. Only happens in the software version of 2021. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

I feel you, Every time there's an exam with Secure Client or Pearson Online Platform I cry a little inside as I just know something will happen. At least it's friday

This works. Changing the time in the bios as close to the minute and hour as possible also seems to work. They were able to get online.
