  1. Hi all, For anyone who has 1:1 iPad schemes rolled out. How do you effectively asset manage apple pencils? Especially for students who have lost theirs or have had theirs stolen? Do you have a replacement policy?
  2. Just a curious question. How many of you are successfully using AI tools like ChatGPT to help you in the workplace? Do you have any examples you don't mind sharing?
  3. Now working again.
  4. Thank you we'll check it out. It's the duty rota so it's panic stations here lol.
  5. Possibly but this was done by a member of staff at 3am presumably off site on their school laptop... - - - Updated - - - Phew, ok i'll wait
  6. Sadly in sharepoint it only gives me the option to restore or delete. Doesn't let me move it or choose where to restore it as soon as I click restore.
  7. Bit of an odd one here and I expect I'll have to fill out a ticket with Microsoft but has anyone come across this before? When trying to restore a deleted file in an All Staff team I get the following error message: "Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: ids"
  8. Is it secured to a pole in the ceiling or something else?
  9. Rarely come across a display issue causing a wobble. It's usually due to how it's secured but could be possible. What cable is it using? VGA, HDMI?
  10. Are you using Papercut Mobility print? https://www.papercut.com/help/manuals/ng-mf/applicationserver/mobile-mobility-print/
  11. The new variant(s?) spreading like wildfire. I caught covid for the first time ever a week ago and was asymptomatic mostly. Had a strange feeling in my airways which told me something was off. First few tests were negative and then sure enough I was positive. Thankful it didn't affect me that much as I never felt really ill or displayed the common symptoms but it has kept a lot of staff and students off here.
  12. Thank you I'll look into that. Does seem a bit overkill but might be an option.
  13. I completely agree but the school has invested a lot of money into making this place a 1:1 iPad environment so it's out of my control.
  14. Hi all, We have 6 iPads that we've setup for an exclusion/timeout area and the iPads are going to be used by the students going up there. One thing we've realised is that the students will likely not sign themselves out of 365 so need an easy solution to this. Does anyone use Jamf and know of a way we can enable some kind of setting or policy that signs the iPads out of 365 applications after a period of time. If it's possible? Or is there a better way to do this?
  15. Is it in a "focus mode?". Is it also connected to an ethernet adapter? Only other thing I can think of is an app that's on there that's causing it.
  16. I fixed it and ashamed to say it wasn't the standoffs at all. A big mistake I made with the PSU cables were the culprit. Luckily no major damage done just a burnt sata cable and damaged port on the motherboard...
  17. Never seen that message but sounds like some stuck buttons on the remote or as Chris has mentioned the slider may be playing up.
  18. Update... I took the mobo out of the case. plugged in just the RAM, Graphics card, and CPU with cooler. Used the screwdriver trick to get the power switch to activate and sure enough it worked perfectly. I then removed two of what I suspected were the culprit standoffs causing the short and sure enough it boots. Except... When I plugged everything back in and powered it up, it started to smell quite badly and smoke did come out the back of the PC. Turned it off in time before any damage was done but the BIOS screen did come up so hopefully it's salvageable. Having said that the smell of burning/chemical wasn't coming from the PSU but the motherboard area. No visible burn marks on the front but I haven't checked the back as I Powered everything down and called it a night going to inspect the damage later. I have not had much luck with this build. It's not exactly a cheap case either.
  19. About a year old if that. I was hoping it would be a quick afternoon build but now i've got to take it all apart
  20. Hi all, Rebuilt my PC to give it some nice upgrades and i'm now using a larger case rather than a micro one and i'm having a weird issue where when I try to power it on the fans start to spin very briefly but then I hear what sounds like a switch in the Psu turn off and then no power. I've looked online and some have mentioned that perhaps the motherboard standoffs might be incorrect and causing a short? The PSU is very good quality and was working on Monday so I can't imagine it's that. Any ideas or steps I should follow? My plan when I get home was to just take it out the case with just the CPU and ram plugged in and try to get it to boot there first.
  21. Are the cables going into a docking station? If so which make? EDIT: Just re-read and saw you put PC. Yeah other than drivers or trying out cables I'm not sure what the issue could be there.
  22. How long is the HDMI run?
  23. Just to add to this, you can restore multiple iPads at once even through a USB hub. If you open as many Apple Configurator 2 windows as you have ipads to restore each one it seems to work brilliantly. Opening the windows means you're not restricted by the restoring dialogue box. Really averted my panic when I had a box of them not connecting to wireless today!
  24. You are a legend! This worked immediately.
  25. Oh really?! I'm definitely going to check that out tomorrow. - - - Updated - - - Yeah that's what I thought but a lot of them just didn't try even though it checked in on Jamf.
