Hi,

 

I am just wondering where you guys buy your toners? Do you buy originals or compatibles? What is the service like? What are the prices like? For what printers?

we mainly use comcen, company from south wales, Welcome to Comcen very competative prices and an excelet returns policy, had a few toners that had leaked, they just took them back and gave us new ones, they can prety much get anything you want, we have a mix of hp, brother and epson printers, we get a mix of originals and compatibles toners and inks, no P&P aswell which is a bonus

All HP little USB desk printers are bought from a local supplier (and teachers have to phone straight to finance to order them, no longer anything to do with us, yaaay)

 

95% of our other toners come through our lease supplier, the printers report back to them when the toner is low and they send some to us without us ever knowing the toner was low, same for waste containers, replacement drums etc. Much prefer having printers on a lease opposed to buying them, works out cheaper in the long run and a lot less hassle

I get my toners either from a local firm in the next village on or from Vicki on here (tcsltd) - Thomas Computer Supplies they are great

 

In terms of what I get, I get compat toners and genuine inks

Very good suppliers and very quick to get quotes for you and always on hand if there are any problems...

We get mainly reman toners from our Cartridge World franchise. We worked closely with them to develop the process and quality. We don't have more than a couple of inkjets left so it's mainly toner.

 

We are currently moving all our printers (25 ish) to leased multifunction devices (Xerox) and leased printers. A local company is leasing us the printers on a per print basis using Kyocera kit - 12 month contract, small deposit then just a price per page. All toners and servicing included. I've moved 6 of them to this scheme soon and the others will follow in the next 3 to 6 months. The printers are outstanding, very high quality and it means we'll only have 1 type of printer across the site and virtually no maintenance.

We use Inkjets & Toners. Their prices are pretty good although they are somewhat inclined to keep phoning you up.

Just as a side note ( obviously depending on how old the printers / copiers are ) the official inks / toners are covered by warrantys / guarentees that said companies have where as compatable ones might do damage or ruin the machine in some way shape or form and if used the said printer / copier manufacturer will void the warranty / cover

Had to read that a couple of times - are you saying third party toners void warrantys? This definitely isn't the case with HP if you read the small print after they got kicked around by the EU -

As you have clearly pointed out this is not the case with all manufacturer but still something worth checking depending on age of the device ie is it still in warranty period and does the manufacturer void the warranty because of the use of non branded toners / inks etc like you pointed out as hp clearly approached this differently

 

although IMO just as an example it's like car fuel whether the car is new or old ( forget about conversion kits for the engines) if u fill a petrol engine with diesel which is the end users fault are u going to expect said car manufacturer to pay for or fix this problem or as I am guessing they will expect u to pay to get it fixed or replaced because diesel was not what the said and specified fuel the car was made to work with.

 

Don't bother mentioning those dual fuel cars or whatever because and I could be wrong and don't mind being correct if you want to correct me by all means do but I have never come across a printer / copier device that has and uses both ink / toner in the same device - but thats a moot point as the above is just an example.

I personally found them to have poor products and appalling customer service.

 

At the moment I get quotes from IDNS, Insight & Probrand for compatibles and buy from whoever's cheapest at that time (varies). Each has excellent customer service IMO and whatever make of toners we receive (Xinia, Delacamp, Longbow, etc) we don't have problems with.

I only use originals and not compatibles, I get from one of our 2 suppliers (my suppliers generally speaking have to be part of the LUPC)

I used Inkjets and toners before as they were the cheapest but now i am using CPLTD from here they beat my old supplier by a few quid on each toner.

 

Inkjets and toners are very agressive i get emails nearly every day and the customer service is not that great but they were the cheapest.

 

 

As for compatibles it is tempting to save money but for hp printers do not bother they are a pain in the you know what

supply memory errors

leaking

quality(not up to hp standards)

they do not last as long

and i found that they tend to jam more using compats

 

but im sure other users swear by compats but for us they suck

 

i have only had one HP toner to be faulty in 5 years now thats good going considering how many we use.

Uk Laser Supplies here. Get a cracking deal, that we pay reman price but get HP originals. Only on colours mind. Free delivery and collection, and printer repair service.

We purchase compatible toners from Quality Office Supplies and Stationery Supplies - CCL Office the office supplies company, Gateshead, Newcastle Upon Tyne

+1 for Comcen. I normally go for Office Basics branded compatibles as they're very reliable, but the CB40xA range just shot up in price so we've switched to Computer Ink compats, still from Comcen - which have been fine too.
