  2. load of old rubbish coming out of your mouth. non of what you state is even vaguely true, you should actually look at what the offering is. Its much more than Office 365 and involves applications and content from several awarding winning companies.
  3. I'm moving to OZ later this year with a PR visa, I qualified for the visa "263111 COMPUTER NETWORK AND SYSTEMS ENGINEER", which is still on the Skills list. see here 1220.0 - ANZSCO - Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations, First Edition, Revision 1 be warned though its not cheap to go though the visa process, you have to have your Skills and quals assessed by the ACS ( Australian Computer society) , Police checks, Medicals and I had to pass an english test to make up enough points for a PR visa. if you need any advise let me know PS we looked at New Zealand but choose OZ as NZ has similar weather to here ...so didnt see the point in moving 10,000 miles to be rained on!
  4. sooo...I'm Planing to move to Oz in 2016 with the family, what's it like to work in Schools over there? Do you get the Holiday's off ( some do here) what's the Pay like compared to the UK. Any advise would be appreciated
  5. seen this happen sometimes with win 7 , when you have the proxy set in two group policies. i.e at default domain and a policy lower down. If this is the case try removing the proxy setting from the default domain policy.
  6. First enable Verbose logging mode to see where the logon is slowest, this will help identify the problem area Enable Verbose Global Policy Logging check event logs on the devices for errors when logging on - failed redirections etc ...any gpos that fail to apply will be logged. run rsop.msc on a computer and check that for errors as well. also dont forget to check for dns issues, a simple nslookup on the computer will point out any dns issues lastley dont overlook a simpel ping test, ping the dc (s) and check the response time.
  7. Have you set he Proxy on the default Domain GPO? and also lower down? i found if i removed the Proxy settings from the default domain and left it lower down it applyed fine to the win 7 machines. on my network the default domain gpo was the only policy i migrated when upgrading to 2008 r2 from 2003 r2. I re-created all other gpo's....i thought i was maybe something to do with that.
  8. The one that always get me is the server location should be http://servername (forward slash) and not the usual http:\\servername ( Backslash)
  9. Hmmm so if i take out Rm's Insurance for accedental cover on these laptops...wot then! 1 years insurance = £33....it was Accidental damage as well not Malicious damage...but i imagine it woudl be hard to convince them RM Insurance
  10. Well yep its most probable i have no rights in this situation
  11. Its not the point im not expecting a free keyboard, i want to pay for a keyboard and this is an "RM" laptop....not some other manufactuer.
  12. Imagine buying a Car and being told they dont make parts for it 3 years later.....its just not acceptable, The laptop should last 5 years at Least. If the laptop was over 5 years old then i would accept it and replace the laptop.
  13. Extra Protection for the Indestructable laptop? Designed for schools!
  14. No Warranty left on these laptops, although as pointed out its user damage and would not be covered....I'm just refusing to accept that i have to use an External keyboard on these laptops....i think its really Bad Service from RM and if they cannot provide a replacement keyboard then they should provide a replacement laptop. "Wishfull thinking i know"
  15. It’s an RM Branded Laptop though ....I’m led to believe I’m not the only one with this issue?
