We're back now.

Same here. We now use National Asset Disposals who I'm led to believe are the same people who originally set up PRM Green

Don't know about microphone boost but we allow access through Group Policy / User / Policies / Administrative Templates / Control Panel / Settings Page Visibility and a setting of showonly:sound;privacy-webcam;privacy-microphone;printers I think the full options are showonly:display;powersleep;printers;mousetouchpad;devices-touchpad;network-ethernet;personalization-background;colors;sound;privacy-webcam;privacy-microphone;activation;windowsupdate;windowsupdate-action;windowsupdate

We have our .sch.uk domain registered through Krystal (krystal.io). It was moved many years ago so I can't remember too much but seem to recall it was fairly painless and, at the time, free.

We were charged by Cunninghams and InVentry and will be by ParentPay

back up VMs to cloud for offsite-What do you use
36Degrees replied to sarge's topic in Cloud Services
As above and as it is unlimited we also backup a couple of critical PCs (e.g. catering manager's). I've also used it to migrate several VMs to new hardware when none of the 'usual' mechanisms would work -

tv show BBC confirms future of Doctor Who and a new Christmas Special in 2026
36Degrees replied to 6Foot2's topic in TV & Movies
Maybe but the biggest problem is still, IMHO, the writers. Wasn't Peter Capaldi's doctor effectively confined to Earth? I was really looking forward to his tenure as I hoped it would be a bit darker but I don't remember much about it as I stopped watching. My OH and SiL are both massive fans and would WhatsApp each other about the episodes with Jodie Whittaker and Ncuti Gatwa. OH would ask what I thought and some of them I would have an opinion but others I would end up replying with something along the lines of "I wasn't really watching". That never happened in the Christopher Ecclestone \ David Tennant \ Matt Smith episodes- 25 replies

@bknaggs beat me to it!

I think the key is stored somewhere in the config so is included in the backup. I had a similar worry when moving Net2 to a different machine but I have now done this twice in the time I have been here without any issues.

Nope - all good here

Site was offline for me this morning, timeout error
36Degrees replied to robintech's topic in EduGeek.net Site Problems
Me too regardless of using work's PC and internet or personal phone and mobile data. I was getting an Edugeek branded error message relating to Cloudflare -
I didn't reapply the patch but then weirdly haven't had the message this morning either...

Yup...

Know how you feel. I thought it was us, then thought it was our Trust, then saw the email from School ICT Services...

Worked for us too. I asked all users to come out of SIMS and then applied it using DB Upgrade. Took about 2 minutes to do the backup and then installed very quickly.

I believe so as the student that was constantly accessing YouTube this way has moved on to other time wasting things... -
A car vs money scenario... Please help me make up my mind!
36Degrees replied to AB_IT's topic in General Chat
Is possibly also related to the fees their bank charges for credit card transactions. (AFAIK allowing you to pay the deposit by credit card means you are still covered for the entire purchase under the consumer credit act) My last car purchase was by credit card deposit and then a bank transfer, the bulk of which was after finding a 0% credit card that allowed transfers to your bank account for the same balance transfer fee. -

Thanks I'll give that a go but just wondered how you add that URL pattern as I keep getting "Validation failed because "youtubeeducation\.com\/embed.*docs\.google\.com" is not a valid url or domain."
