I was reading the Telegraph newspaper earlier and they had a "100 films to watch before you die", which I thought was a cliche....

How about "100 films you'd die before you'd watch"!

My number 1 would probably be (and I haven't seen it)

Battlefield Earth, where you have to be a Zetan level 8 to understand it, and a cretin level 100 to watch it.

Other than that, I'd include "The Cook the Thief His Wife & Her Lover". A film where Helen Miren gets her kit off.. oh how unusual. It's not big and it's not clever.... now stop it! In fact any Pete Greenaway film would be on my list.

What others would you tear your eyes out to avoid?

I've tried to watch Battlefield Earth..... twice. Most boring film I've ever had the off chance to encounter. I love sci-fi but blimey.

My problem is that I would give any film a bash. Even the films from Asylum films (I am Omega, War of the Worlds 2, The Terminators). All very blatant ripoffs but most are worth a laugh at how cheap the productions are. I am Omega had the same zombie (I know it should be vampire type person) in all the scenes.

I rather enjoyed Battlefield Earth.

The only annoying thing was the camera man was drunk on every shot......

recently - Valkyrie

I was excited when it started in german with english subtitles.

which then crossfaded into english......and the plot was shocking

Anything with Adam Sandler in it.

Hear, hear

And Jim Carrey (with the exception of 'The Truman Show' in which he accidentally showed that he can act without pulling silly faces)

The Da Vinci Code.

You know when someone comes up to you and says "oh you havent seen that film?! oh you have to watch it, its definitely something you'd like", its probably not for you.

If that happens 3 or more times I'll refuse to watch it until I've had sufficient time to forget about the recommendations and then watch it.

Anything with Nicolas Cage in it... except Raising Arizona but that's because of the a great cast such as Holly Hunter, oh and Wild at Heart, cos of the other great cast.. Wilem Defoe, Harry Dean Stanton and Laura Dern... actually the Rock is a good laugh too... oh forget it. I just don't like Nicolas Cage.

Anything with Tom Cruise, Canoe Reeves, Kevin Costner (except Dances with Wolves)

Infact most films in which Americans try to do any of the following.

Be anything other that american, reinvent their role in the War, try to act!!

I wish I could regain the 2 hours I wasted watching Cloverfield, what a pile of....

Wow, one of my favourite films! I saw "102 minutes that changed America" on the history channel the other day which is a documnetary of just footage from 9/11 with no commentary and it felt just like watching cloverfield.

But isn't it based on a true story so the plot is just real events?

Maid in Manhattan & Pearl Harbour!

I feel ill just thinking about them...

Great Review on IMDB

There are very few films I've come across which actually make you want to beat yourself senseless with a heavy object. But this is surely one of them. Quite possibly one of the worst films ever made and I can't believe I managed to watch it through to the end! Twice. Once in the cinema and once on TV!
