This has been in the school for 10+ years, it's very very solid and just a bit too big these days. It holds up to 10 laptops/chromebooks, I'd say up to 15 inch. Collection only from Richmond, Greater London. I doubt this would fit in most cars - maybe an estate with the seats down but otherwise you'll need a van.

As listed in this thread over 2(!) years ago...got rid of one and forgot about the rest. I will check they power on if anyone does want one but they should be fine. Collection from Richmond Upon Thames. There are 2 balance boxes that allow the screens to slide up and down (manual) that can be included if desired but I don't know about fittings for them. Otherwise mounts can be found easily, just need to ensure they support the weight!

We've had this in our Nursery for a number of years now, but they no longer have room for it. It was working but recently keeps giving CMOS checksum errors - as there is no keyboard usually attached it makes it hard to get past. Changing the CMOS battery seems to help but then it quickly happens again. The good news is that the PC module appears to an OPS format so it should be replaceable with a more modern unit. Probably more of a project than a ready to go piece of kit for a school. We have 4 Smart 4065 "interactive" displays which we have taken out of rooms this summer. They work fine as displays but the touch is problematic on all 3 - this is why they were replaced. They work fine as screens, just not interactively (in reality the touch does work but not reliably enough for classroom use - they often miss touches and pen strokes - it was common with these models) Specs here - https://support.smarttech.com/docs/hardware/displays/smart-board-4000-and-e70/en/about/specifications/spnl-4065.cshtml They don't come with any mounts, so you will need to sort those out but they should all have remotes and pens. They are obviously very heavy and large - 2 are in boxes from the replacement screens which should make them slightly easier to pack in a van but otherwise anyone who picks them up will be responsible for ensuring they can transport them safely. Happy for these to go for free now as long as you can collect them!

Been great for us, installed last summer replacing an old Ruckus setup. Few issues with APs going offline for a while but this has improved a lot with recent firmware updates - pretty rock solid now. We use a Cloud Key 2 for the controller, no issues.

But surely that's true for many pupils right now unless you have a 1-1 scheme - most are using their own or parents computers. We aren't being difficult and refusing to support them because it's not school owned equipment. It is a bit of a nightmare trying to decipher whether the issue is related to Google Classroom or their PC at home, but it's just the reality of things at the moment.

I put in a forecast including all annual commitments + upgrades/maintenance/nice to haves + a contigency and generally get all that granted - some things I will be asked to defer until the next year or not to go ahead with for various reasons, but if it is something I can argue the case for (infrastructure, backups, anything vital) I will generally get the money. I'm incredibly lucky that I work in an independent school that really does budget for IT, and takes it seriously. We're relatively small, and only have a few computer suites, but have a lot of mobile devices, and separate geographical sites which does increase costs. I really feel for many on here being asked to do everything for virtually nothing

Not huge (<100mb), and yes we have G Suite. Just wasn't sure if that was an acceptable way of sharing this data? That or uploading to our website would both be easier than signing up for something for what is hopefully a rare occurrence.

We have a number of Smartboards which are being replaced this year and I thought I would offer them on here before sending them for recycling. There are at least 6 or 7, mostly 660's but possibly 1 or 2 smaller or larger. All with pen trays, also spare pen trays, tons of spare pens etc. Probably some projectors too. They will all be taken down by the end of the coming week - if anyone would be interested in collection? They would need to be gone by the end of August. We are in Richmond, South West London.

We recently received a SAR - the data collection, collation and redaction has all been done but now I'm not sure of the best way to provide this data to the individual? They have requested it digitally. I imagine email (the files are too big anyway) is a no-no so do we need some sort of secure document portal that only they can access? I've looked all over and I can't find any detail about the recommended way to do this, it's all very vague. Can anyone recommend a service? We don't mind paying. Unfortunately everything I've found so far is just 'Book a demo!' - we need it a bit more urgently than that - preferably something I can sign up for there and then.

Yes, we have had them at our school for a number of years. In terms of the operation of the camps, they are usually fine. And once the installations have been done we don't have a lot to do with them. The issue is the huge amount of time it takes to install all their software, then image PCs back for school use at the end of the holiday. PM me if you want to chat in detail about them.

We also did this and it was a terrible decision. Not only did they keep falling out (even after cable tying) but with small desks the chairs and children's feet were constantly knocking into them, breaking the headphone connector (since the port is only on the front) and generally causing chaos. We have mounted on the wall next to the monitors now, looks a lot messier but so much more reliable.

The time has really come to stop clogging up our store rooms with these. We have: 6x 560's 3x 660's 1x 580 1x 680 We should have enough pen trays, pens, erasers, USB cables for them. They were all working when taken out, we can do brief tests to see if they are detected by a PC should anyone want them but are unable to do much more. Take as few or as many as needed - obviously would prefer not to get rid of them all individually so preference would be given to those who could collect multiple units. This was their main problem (alongside lack of apps). Once is frustrating but just about acceptable. Twice was ridiculous. I quite liked some parts of WM, never loved the menus or typeface but the tiled start screen was really good. Tbh it was hard to ever do a fair comparison to iOS or Android because from day 1 there wasn't the apps available and so I never felt I could use one as my personal phone. Was solid as a work phone though, went through 3 different Lumias when they were still releasing decent ones.

Granted I have given up on them for a while now but as of a year ago, yes. We tried absolutely everything, had 2 replaced under warranty, still awful. And it sounds like I'm far from the only one. Don't get me wrong, out of 7 there are a couple which have given no trouble, but that's really not good enough.

Ditto. Same with the 6000 series. Awful Our Clevertouches and BenQ's have the odd issue but they at least allow teachers to reliably write on them, a basic function Smart displays can't manage

Had a very similar error trying to import users into Junior Librarian earlier this week, the solution was they have to be imported in the Intake section or that error occurs. Quite why they bother having an Import button in other areas is beyond me though!

So over the summer I need to migrate a bit of a mishmash of systems over purely to Lightspeed Mobile Manager which we have purchased. We currently have approx 60 pupil iPads which are managed with AC 1.7 and a MacBook, and 40 odd staff ones on Meraki, for which we've used VPP to assign apps to staff Apple IDs. So I suspect the first order of business is to get Apple to migrate our codes over to managed distribution - am I right in thinking this should add to the totals we already have for apps, eg if we bought 40 copies via code and had another 20 for staff we bought with VPP< after conversion would we have 60 licences for that app? Then how do I switch from Meraki to Lightspeed? Just remove/disable the service token from Meraki and add it to Lightspeed? Is this likely to cause issues with staff iPads and assigned apps? I'm assuming not as this is independent of any specific MDM? Finally I know I need to bring in all the pupil ones, unsupervise them and then re supervise with the Lightspeed profile and then start deploying settings and apps from there - this bit I'm not too worried about. Are there any massive things I'm missing there, or anything I'm likely to do in the wrong order?

We currently have a bit of a complicated setup for our iPads. All pupil ones are managed through AC 1.7 and staff ones through Meraki and user assigned VPP apps. I want to migrate all to a new MDM, and I've been trialling Lightspeed Mobile Manager for this purpose. One thing I want to test though is device app assignment for pupil iPads. For some reason I've never been able to get this working on Meraki - I did upgrade from the free version and I have less than 100 devices on there but my UI looks different to videos and I seem to be missing options - there is literally nowhere for me to device assign. Anyway what I'd much rather do is test this with Lightspeed before I commit, but I'm wary about adding our VPP token to multiple MDMs as I've heard it causes issues? A Lightspeed rep I talked to said I could generate multiple VPP tokens but I really don't know what he was on about as it's impossible to generate more than 1. Best course of action? I need to be sure device assignment works...I'm sure it will as all our iPads are on iOS10 but I just want to see it with my own eyes before I spend £££

I've told all staff not to ignore the email and to change their passwords but what to do about pupils? We did a bulk upload and none have associated email addresses but we still should be changing them...however getting every pupil to do that is going to be a mission and it doesn't look like there is a way to do it from our end in bulk.

Don't understand universal remotes, having multiple ones just doesn't seem like an issue to me, certainly not one to justify spending loads of money on. My dad does it though
