  1. 4 Staff Servers: 15 servers on 3 physical boxes Desktops: 800-ish Laptops: 200-ish Pupils: 1900 Staff: 250 Hours: Full Time
  2. Full Throttle for the PC. I loved that game. The initial cutscene with the Gone Jackals song playing over it was awesome. If you've never heard of it, go find it and buy it, it's a cult classic that's relatively unknown.
  3. Have sent you a PM oz to avoid cluttering the thread... cheers, chris
  4. Having issues with the upgrade. Getting the below 404 error when browsing to http://server:81/upgrade/ Could this be because we're hosting on port 81? HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. 5. Oz I've emailed you about the same problem vikpaw is having. Can you clarify how we actually get to the download? I take it that doesn't apply to me, so can you create me an account or let me know how to get logged in? Thanks Chris
  6. I do it every day, the nearest office with a kettle is only round the corner though and I make sure to time it so it's not during movement breaks. If any kids get to close or I see someone running towards me just shout at them, they usually see you then!
  7. So ETA for next patch is 2nd November? And I take it the patch that was going to be released has been added to v2.0.4000 instead?
  8. I've had exactly the same issue. I felt like an idiot because it was me who pushed for OPSD in the first place. Seemed like a fairly safe bet, being affiliated with Edugeek n all, but have had endless trouble during setup, upgrades, the huge number of bugs and awful communication. Now I'm stuck as we were using that free Liberum software so we are starting to look at alternatives such as spiceworks. Real shame.
  9. Nothing. But 'meduim' is embarassing.
  10. Any news on the release yet? If I have to set another job to 'meduim' priority, the pedant in me is going to have a crisis...
  11. Good ideas, will see if those can be added!
  12. The DNS has only recently been changed over. Perhaps it's still propagating as the previous website was directed to the serco learning platform. The CMS is custom made by the company that made the site. Here's another link: http://plume.interaweb.com/
  13. Hi all. We've just had our new site go live. Please take a look if you get a chance (I know we're all very busy at the mo) and feel free to give any criticisms or suggestions! Personally I think it's pretty good, except for it being a bit dodgy in chrome... Cheers! LINK: Home Ok, well first thing to do is make the 'Home' read 'Plume School'
  14. Will updates still be provided to those who host themselves? Also, after the years license is up, if we renew are we still able to receive upgrades or will we have to move over to the hosted service? Cheers Chris
  15. My problem is that I simply don't have the time to answer hundreds of sales calls! It's not just an inconvenience it's a waste of my time, and usually, time I don't have. I'm not sure how many sales calls you get but after we reach the first 5-10 by mid morning (especially when they lie and scam to try and get information/money out of us) I think it's perfectly reasonable to get worked up! If you're going to use an FoI request as a means of scouting commercial opportunities then that really is the last straw, why would I want to deal with anyone like that...
  16. Hmm, well the test only works from the server it's installed on, I know that much. No idea why the options not appearing when testing it from the server though. Best get in contact with Ozan if you can.
  17. Have you used the 'CheckEmail' feature on the server where the helpdesk is installed? If you go to http://HELPDESKURL/wsemailpoll.asmx and click on 'CheckEmail', then click on 'Invoke', that should give you an error message you can work from...
  18. Yeh after a long few months I've finally got polling working. My issue was only having IMAP enabled on our Exchange, but SmartDesk only supports POP3 at the moment. What seems to be the trouble?
  19. I believe that this is being altered so users logging incidents have a 'default' priority level, however I'm not sure if there's a way to customize the number of priority levels at the moment.
  20. That's worrying, I was under the assumption it would be in a future release. That's the one thing that puts staff off using it...
  21. The only problem I found with LDAP is that in the web.config file, the 'LDAP_security_group' setting is case sensitive, that's what caught me out!
  22. Thanks for the PM joe!
  23. Unfortunately not, I can't seem to get it working at all. I'm sure I'm just getting confused somewhere but can't seem to put my finger on the problem. Any chance I can PM you tomorrow during work and maybe swap web.config files (obviously deleting any sensitive information) just to see if I've got the config right? Cheers Chris
  24. Has anyone been able to get email polling working on smartdesk? If anyone has managed it, can you PM me as I'm finding it difficult to get my head round. Thanks.

Woah, that sounds like a very optimistic ratio. We have a similar number of machines to Sylv3r. We have a 5 man team, only two of us are technicians. So at the moment 500 each. oh and just to add, all we do is firefight. I predict within the year, our IT infrastructure will implode under the pressure.
