hardtailstar Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Most of the pubs/eatery's in my town are offering home delivery of meals. One pub is selling off its canned items and providing a give and exchange service. You bring an item in that you dont need and can exchange it for another.

FN-GM Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 How??? It isn't taxed like it is in the UK. Although that price I quoted was very cheap. I usually pay around $1.30 a litre (around 65p). The price does change like the wind. The most I paid was $1.55 a litre (around 77p). Generally tax is lower here. VAT (we call it GST) is only 10%. Beer is taxed quite heavily - its more expensive than the UK. Wine isn't and it's much cheaper than the UK. I live in South Australia where most of it is made so you can get some good prices. 1

I wonder if this is meat eaters having to make do or veggies stockpiling. If the latter and eventually supplies run out but there are still meaty alternatives, will principles be compromised?

They’re not going out to work/school/socially so they’re not eating out or using the toilets while out (so many toilets are closed now) Consequently they need far more food, loo paper and soap at home. 2. If you have the misfortune to have 1+ young men in the household, including ones sent home from university, the volume of food needed just increases on an exponential scale. 3. Some people are just idiots or are profiteering by flogging loo roll on eBay.

And although we are coming into work next week we have been told that its one day at work then one day at home for our team of two. Worried that we could end up both being ill, but as our head of IT services has been told until it becomes clear that the school site is in total lockdown. 1

Some staff saying not coming in monday. People talking about how they will get time owed back if they have to work over holidays. Teacher said currently they would not get paid if they took time off to look after kids (with a non-corona virus illness) Head suggested (joking ?) that if they say symptoms are cough and temp they could claim coronavirus and get paid I do worry that once the chancellor announces support packages later today people will abuse it and / or make fraudulent claims Early days I guess but the history doesn't bode well: Breaking the law during World War Two Edited March 20, 2020 by mrstrong
