Adobe has officially announced that Adobe Animate will be discontinued from 1 March 2026. This will have a significant impact on schools and any organisation still relying on Animate for curriculum delivery, creative work, or legacy Flash animation workflows. According to Adobe’s End‑of‑Life FAQ, Animate will no longer be sold after 1 March 2026, and continued access depends on your licence type: Non‑enterprise customers: Access, downloads, and technical support end 1 March 2027. Enterprise customers: Access and support continue until 1 March 2029. [helpx.adobe.com] Existing installations will continue to run, but Adobe warns that access to Animate files and project data will end when support ends, and the software will not be downloadable after that point. [helpx.adobe.com] Tech press have also confirmed the shutdown, noting the absence of a full replacement and widespread concern within the animation and education community.

I've just finished Digital Fortress by Dan Brown. The story revolves around a top-secret government agency tasked with safeguarding America’s intelligence systems. Quite enjoyed it.

Looking forward to this film....the book is really good!

I have used Lansweeper in the past and found it really useful for keeping track of IT assets. Unfortunately, it was decided for me that school can no longer afford it.

Thanks, I have seen that before. But after talking to my "employer" about the office temperature, it was clear that they want me to buy my own heater to resolve the problem.

Just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on cold working conditions. At what temperature do you think action should be taken to improve things, and who should be responsible for making that happen? Two weeks ago, I emailed SLT after arriving at my office at 7:30am to find it a brisk 14°C. By the end of the day, it had soared to a tropical 16°C, practically shorts-and-T-shirt weather, right? The response was that I could bring in my own heater, provided it was brand new and came with a 12-month warranty. Fast forward to this morning: 12°C at 7:30am. The building’s heating system is apparently “working as expected,” according to the premises manager. So, is 12°C considered acceptable for an office environment? We’re not even in the depths of winter yet, and my fingers and nose are freezing (okay, not literally frozen, but you get the idea!). Am I being a snowflake (no pun intended)? Would love to hear your experiences and opinions!

Don't regard this as a recommendation because I have only recently joined, but after doing some research the NEU seemed like a good choice - I am also IT support staff.

We have all been given 2 masks each. They are two layer masks (not the three layer recommended by WHO). They are also "one size fits all", no elasticated string to go around your ears, just cotton loops. I must have a small face/head because it slides down my face as I walk around. Meaning I constantly have to touch it to put it back in place!

That's more or less what teaching staff here have been told.

We are surely getting to the point where the evolving definition of a key worker is meaning that there are more 'key workers' than 'non key workers'. Schools will still have hundreds of children in if this carries on, this will minimise the effectiveness of this plan won't it? Lots of kids still mingling. Possibly moving the contagion around their family members. Family members who then go to work as a key worker, possibly infecting other key workers. Does this plan risk making things worse?

What a surprise; they forgot about the staff who support teachers. Glad they have now updated it!

The classification of 'key-worker' will be, well, KEY. I am IT Manager at a large secondary school. We will be sending 1100+ pupils home tomorrow and have created resources in the cloud for them. I am solely responsible for supporting all cloud platforms used for teaching resources, as well as all ICT equipment loaned to FSM pupils and staff to enable home-working. Does that make me a key worker? I am more than happy to come to work, as long as I can work alone in my office, without being disturbed by other staff/children coming and going. A sort of in-work isolation.

Maybe their own kids could also come to the school with them - like an on-site creche type thing.

Some users may experience poor network performance on a class A network that hasn't been split into separate VLANs, dependant on the number of network devices that are connected to the network. Broadcast storms could cause problems on a poorly configured class A network too.

Don't think you can change ownership of a form, you would need to recreate it as a group form.
