SLT here are holding off upgrading old PC's in our ICT suites because they think we might be given some PC's by the Local Authority as part of this project. Do we have any idea when that phase will begin?

Is that an officially announced deadline or a rumour? Thanks.

Make a Microsoft Group. Add the address for the transport mailbox to the group. Then create a group form.

How are you shutting down / waking up your W10 machines these days?
Bionic replied to CharlesGreig's topic in Windows 10
We use Group Policy to create a scheduled task on our computers to shutdown at 7pm. Our computers are all Windows 10 and startup in under a minute, so there is no need to have the computers switch on automatically in the morning. -
Hi Thimon. Would you mind sharing that guide with me too? I am preparing to go through the exact dame process early next year and would appreciate an insight into how you have achieved it. Many thanks.

Something else to consider: for the better VR systems you will also need a fairly decent graphics card to get the best out of them.

We monitor, but it is a purely manual task, carried out by me when I am able to. I use AB Tutor on all PC's and check 'now and then' to see what pupils are doing/accessing. If I spot anything of concern it is reported to the relevant person to follow up. All ICT suites also have the AB Tutor console installed on the teacher PC. Staff are aware and have been shown how to use the software to monitor, but I don't think many do this.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who suffers this!

I use an Excel spreadsheet. Nice and simple. Easy to filter by type of asset etc. Can be run in the cloud via O365.

I now use Applocker to block pupil access to the Microsoft Store, but I used to just block the .exe using AB Tutor.

There's two of us here; a staggered shift means at least one of us is here from 7:15am to 4:30pm.

Microsoft Planner inserted as a tab in our Microsoft Team works well for us. -

I would also suggest using either Google Forms or Microsoft Forms. All form responses will be automatically collated in a handy spreadsheet which can be locked down using permissions.

Has anyone had any luck in deploying "DB Browser for SQLite" software silently using MDT? I have tried everything I know but have had no success creating a silent MSI. I keep getting the attached error message. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-47805451 "A test of UK university defences against cyber-attacks found that in every case hackers were able to obtain "high-value" data within two hours." I wonder if primary/secondary schools would fair any better when it comes to penetration testing of IT networks.

Is it just Win7 you need to install, or is there other software too? edit: sorry just reread and see that there is other software too. How much additional software is there?

We have 64 CCTV cameras located throughout several buildings. We have a CCTV VLAN. Each camera is connected to a network port that runs to a nearby PoE switch and configured with a static IP using DHCP. Each port connected to a CCTV camera is on the CCTV VLAN. All switches configured to trunk the CCTV VLAN traffic. We use BlueIris software installed on a "beefy PC" in the IT office. Each camera IP is added to BlueIris. BlueIris then configured to record only when movement is detected and configured to delete recordings after a pre-agreed period. Any footage that needs to be retained for longer than 30 days is copied to a secure folder on the network. Feel free to drop me a PM if you want any more details.

Not trying to pick a fight, simply trying to gather opinion from the community on our scenario. Apologies if it came across any other way.
