So let me get this clear. My husband has to work and be in contact with loads of people but I’m not allowed to hug my sister and I can sunbathe in the park with multiple strangers if I stay 2 metres away from them but can’t sunbathe with 2 of my friends, even 2 metres apart. Got it.

 

I know they are relying on common sense - eg I SHALL let a friend come into my garden (open back gate, brings her own drink) to socialise with me at 2m distance of course. But honestly - as someone said: I know, I will get my sons (who live away from me) to be cleaners or somesuch and then they can come into my house.

 

Did anyone see the marketing guy explaining how the new slogans are very deliberately chosen - and are in place so that the blame is shifted on us.

Either relax the rules or just tell us to stay as we are and be very specific about what we can do. I get what they want to do.. relax slightly and see how things go but they have made this far more complicated.

A productive day at work resulted in this:-

 

Rainbows in lockdown and No.10 briefings

Death rates and test rates, no beer in the evenings

Homemade face masks, all tied up with string

These are a few of my favourite things

 

Professor Chris Whitty and Sir Patrick Valance

Providing the science with which we can balance

Boris’s claims and Matt Hancock’s dreams

These are a few of my favourite things

 

Unlabelled axes and graphs without meaning

Standing on doorsteps and clapping and cheering

Meaningless slogans “do / don’t do these things”

These are a few of my favourite things

 

When the bug strikes

When COVID stings

When I’m feeling bad

I simply remember my favourite things

And then I don’t feel so mad

My neighbour got tested positive on Wednesday but he was on at risk group and has limited contact and no one living with him, 2-3 people delivering shopping but keeping 2m apart or leaving shopping on door step. Doesn't know how he got it.

 

Went to ASDA on Thursday for shopping and noticed there were a lot less people wearing masks and more people completely ignoring the directional arrows, seems to me people are relaxing about the risks :doh: .

Lockdown is over, didn't you know? Boris relaxed the rules a bit, but we all know that what he really meant was that it is perfectly safe to just do what you like now. Hence the swarms of teenagers congregating in parks and on the streets. And the large groups of families coming together for bike rides and picnics. At least, that's what I saw yesterday.

 

Boris (opening a box of inches): Here, help yourself to one.

Joe Public (taking 63,360 of them): Oooh, don't mind if I do. Ta very much! Oi, lads! Come and help yourselves...

Probably on the shopping itself. The petrol station near my house has put signs up saying something like "Please only touch products you are intending to buy". Is a fair point, really.

My Alexa flashed up this morning that Eastenders will be filming again soon, OK panic over and back to normality, lol.

My brother has said he has the "CoronaCough ™" but no temperature or any other symptoms. He's been working from home (but was recently furloughed), along with his wife (primary school teacher) and their 5 year old & 2 1/2 year old kids. We will have to wait and see if any of the others get symptoms.

We had shopping delivered earlier in the week. OH came home and said "why is that still sitting in the hall - it arrived hours ago?"

 

I said "waiting for the C-19 to die"

Only suggestion would be at the start: "Stay home - collect £160."
Working from home and getting overtime that's exactly what's happening for me!

I've gone from 9 hours a week to almost full time!

Our Head and I had a conversation today where he indicated that he expects the mode we 'open' to years 10 and 12 only will be as follows:

 

Students visit teachers on a one to one basis with the teachers checking the progress of the students. Once the meeting is over the student goes on to see their next teacher in rotation (if any) in a separate room. At the same time other students will be seeing other teachers (only one year group at any one time: eg: Year 10 periods 1 and 2 on Monday, Year 12 periods 3 and 4 on Monday etc)

 

He feels the exacts details may vary, but he feels this is the most likely scenario until the end of the Summer term.

Our state hasn't had any new cases in weeks and currently nobody is being treated for COVID-19. It looks like its been killed off here. Its a similar situation with Western Australia and the Northern Territory. The state borders will be opened once the other states are in the same situation.

 

We are still struggling with some supplies in supermarkets. Soap seems to be a particular problem.
